Here's a question.

If you lose your PS3 data.  Cany you re-use the DLC .  OR will you have to repurchase if you need to start your game again?

That I have tested out!

I backed up my game save and then deleted it off the console...

Restarted the game and then went into DLC and clicked on all the packs to install the content...

and there ya go!... If you as Impuslive as me and restarts from scrach every so often or you loose your data.... you will have all of the DLC from the start of the new game data :smileyhappy:

Re: GT5 DLC - A Few Notes

As for it be locked onto an account... I think it has to do with the fact there isn't actually any downloading needed to install the content and would leave it open to some serious scamming (by scamming, i mean by basicly logging onto another PS3 with your account, installing the content and then letting the owners use it without neven paying for it...)

Hope this makes sense!

but what if you delete your gama data? that ~8gb file under game utility? i mean that "try deleting game data and installing/updating it afterwards" recommended way to fix things if game does not work quite as expected...

I'm assuming that it wound not cause much of a problem as if you look in the 'Services List' in account management it is classed as a service... However I'm not willing to try as it'll take me about a week to download the updates...

Re: GT5 DLC - A Few Notes

Truly disappointed in this. I had planned to buy the full DLC pack, but if my 8yo son cant play it on his sub account also, then I am not entertaining this. I can understand them not allowing sharing over multiple PS3s, but not on the same bloomin console.

If this is the way things are going and all games go this route, then I'm out of DLC and PSN purchases for good.

Re: GT5 DLC - A Few Notes

This isn't the first game to do this.

The problem, as explained by Kaz, is that the DLC consists of one-use items which are exhaustable but re-purchasable.  This issue only becomes apparent when offered in a Bundle.

You can't manage exhaustable items across multiple accounts.

However, perhaps it is a PSN limitation, but there should have been no reason why the Tracks and Cars could not be usable across multiple accounts on the same PS3, however, that would have affected the Bundle DLC.

The only part of the DLC that I consider to be 'Must Have' are the Tracks.  If it were me in this multiple account situation, I would buy it again.

The Car DLC is good but is only really skin mods to existing cars in the game already (exc the X2011), the suits & helmets are already in and awardable in Patch 2.0, so that just leaves the Paint Chips, which is no biggie.

I can understand the frustration around this method of DLC distribution especially considering the limitations weren't made known until after it went on sale, but I can also see the limitations faced by PD in securing and managing this content within the game.

A painful truth is that we have been shouting for DLC for close to a year now, now we have it, we don't like how it's been handled.
