From switching over from Forza 3, the idea of DLC is a good one. Also DLC adds an oppertunity for GT5 to expand on its massive 1000 cars which I think would be brilliant. Also they could add to the circiuts aswel. Who else thinks that this would be a good idea?
I would love to see an old timer DLC for GT5. I feel there isnt enough old cars from the 60's era that are premium, I know its not everyones cup of tea but surely its nice to mix up the cars you drive instead of driving ferarri's, lambos and Race cars such as the Mazda 787b. I find it alot more fun to drive something different online that no one else would drive and i would espeically love for the Mini 1.3i to add more detail and to become a premium, I would pay just for the Mini but i know for a fact this will not be done, Just a massive i hope/Wish :(.
I would love to see a "community" DLC.
Where members of whatever the official forum is can vote for their most wanted cars and the top so many get put into DLC.
We get the cars we want (some of us anyway) and PD are pretty much certain to make sales on cars that are actually wanted.
I understand Forza does something similar.
I am getting Forza 3 very soon so I will be interested to see how that works.
I cant see how Kaz can be sceptical about introducing DLC packs when he has a whole massive community, majority of which would be happy to pay for new content. This is the one game where I wouldn't think twice about buying dlc for, soon as its in the store...
I've seen 1 argument where dlc would apparently make GT6 'pointless' but by the time they get around to making it there will be countless new cars produced by the world's numerous manufacturers. This game is like a motoring encyclopedia there will never ever be a limit of content that can be made via both dlc or new title release.
I do hope he changes his mind eentually ;)
DLC is a funny beast. I have recently connected to the internet at home for the first time, have enjoyed the up to date updates for games and the system.
Anywho, with GT5 I think that there are enough cars in the game already, but of course there are quite a few decent cars missing. Also it's quite shocking that the Veyron doesn't have a cockpit view! It's my fastestcar at the moment.
If PD want to add more premium cars via free patches then yes I'm up for that, but I do think that more tracks should be added. There are again quite a few missing here. Here's some tracks I'd like.
The Epic Mountain Course TT (Isle of Man)
F1 tracks (Yeongham, Abu Dhabi, Spa Franc..., etc)
But what I really want, wether it be a stand alone game, free patch, free DLC, cheap PSN download, would be Tourist Trophy 2...
I'd really love to have a serious bike racer on the PS3 (SBK is good MotoGP is not) and from the first TT PD did a really decent job really. Only this time to have it as a fully fledged GT for bikes, with used bike dealers, etc.
I know that this will get shot down as people want GT5 to remain car exclusive, but I don't, I'd like some car vs bike races....
All I need is some more super gt cars from '09 and '10. I want drive/play the last year's champion Honda HSV. PLS PD give us a dlc
DLC for Gran Turismo 5 would be great, 25 new tracks, ability to race virtual racers against each other in b spec mode and an iphone viewer for the racing or rear view...
Looking forward to Gran Turismo 6, Last Guardian, Mass effect 3 , GTA 5 and any new microsoft flight simulator remakes with scaling up and addition of multiplayer online flying racing or other missions.
They model about 20 cars at a time and its only months for premium cars.
Standard cars take about a week to port over + polish off.
If theres going to be any DLC soon then it will be announced at E3.
The term is "man hours", the number of hours it would take for one man to finish building a car.
In Prologue, most cars had over 200,000 polygons.
Some of GT5's cars have over 400,000 polygons.
PD said it took about 6 months per car and over a year each for most tracks.
A DLC would be VERY VERY appreciated. I don't mind if it were composed only by standard cars, it doesn't matter to me, but id love to get some vintage cars, mobster-like cars, would be very very awesome and im ashamed that Gran Turismo doesn't have these, since they were a good mark on the automobile history.
Also, bring back: El Capitan, Test Course, Red Rock Valley and Special Stage Route 11, would be epic. That's my idea of a good and entertaining DLC.
