THE ELIMINATOR LEAGUE
PILOT SEASON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oJfhhLmPCQ
I am looking for volunteers to take part in a pilot season for a new league I want to create, this pilot season is as it says, a test to see if the concept works. If it proves successful we can then launch it properly. As such I myself will not be taking part in any races but I will be hosting all events, the reason for this is that I will be using my own tracks and it would give me a massively unfair advantages. I only want to see if it works, you guys get the fun and I will record the races and upload as necessary as well as maintain the table etc on your behalf.
The pilot season will only consist of one division of hopefully 15 participants, so no promotion/relegation but the 15 will be eligible for the 'Premier Division' if the Eliminator League starts proper afterwards. Lower divisions will be populated by others who wish to join.
Rules:
How the scoring works
Each player starts with 500 points for race one. One point is taken away from current total for every second they finish behind the race winner, so if a player finishes 60 seconds behind the winner in race one he/she will lose 60 points meaning he.
/she will now have 440 points in the table. However many points a player has at the end of race one will be carried over in to race two, see below for what happens depending on race results:
Race One
P1: Player One Winner (500pts)
P2: Player Two +12s (488pts)
P3: Player Three +29s (471pts)
P4: Player Four +60s (440pts)
So the League division would look like below:
1st: Player One (500pts)
2nd: Player Two (488pts)
3rd: Player Three (471pts)
4th: Player Four (440pts)
As explained above, these current points total carry into race two so the next results affect the points as so:
Race Two
P1: Player Two Winner (488pts)
P2: Player Four +1s (439pts)
P3: Player Three +35s (436pts)
P4: Player One +42s (458pts)
And the division now looks like this:
1st: Player Two (488pts)
2nd: Player One (458pts)
3rd: Player Four (439pts)
4th: Player Three (436pts)
If however you fail to finish the race then you will be deducted the 90 points as mandated by the 1 minute 30 second countdown timer which automatically begins after the race winner crosses the line. 1 minute 30 seconds is equal to 90 seconds and thus that is the amount of points you will lose.
Additional points will then be lost in relation to what position you finished, but only if you fail to finish the race. A 5x multiplier in relation to that position will be used so the person who finishes 15th will recieve a further points loss of 75pts (15 x5), I know this sounds harsh but it makes it fair when lots of people may be finishing as high as 6th in several races and yet they find they never make the timer and so lose 90 pionts as well. There needs to be a disctinction made in relation to working out who gets relegated, so the worst/unluckiest performers get additional points damage.
Any volunteers? Any questions? ![]()

Sounds like a great idea, any ideas what days of the week you would want to hold these events?

I must admit, I'd thought there would be more interested in this. Racing online with other humans certainly kicks the rear end out of racing the AI any day of the week.
Me personally? Well, I'm sorry but I just don't have enough GT5 hours in the week as it is. I am currenty racing online with another group of chaps and all my effort goes into that, leaving no time from anything else...

This is a very interesting concept so I would be keen to sign up. I might be short of free time but I would do my best to work around other GT5 events and testing etc to fit this in when it starts.
