The AI in Forza 4 is basically stupid..and is a constant source of frustration as most time's it is likely when overtaking that the car's will turn in on you and collide..the handling of the car's is in my opinion very poor as well compared to GT5....the car's feel like they have no grip and constantly slide as well as feeling like they are on a pivot in "normal" driving mode although it's slightly better in "Simulation" mode...

The accelarator certainly doesn't have the depth from GT5 in fact most time's at speed if you ease off of it..the car loses control...

Graphically although a vast improvement over Forza 3, the game still hasn't got the realism or depth of GT5 neither does it have the "feel or responce" and for me is no more than an Arcade racer with some fancy touches...

I feel certainly it has been overhyped and for me sadly has been a big dissapointment as i had hoped it would be a viable alternative to GT5 which it is not...

That's just my opinion as there will alway's be those who prefer one to the other and good luck to them

Agreed, I thought the response of FZ4 was very poor when compared to GT5. The cars felt sluggish or like a heavy feel to them which is the only way i can explain forza 4.

Try explaining that to a Forza fanboy. All they seem to say is about detail and graphics, all because Forza 4 has better graphics and details from Forza 3 they think that it's the best and better than GT5. We had that kind of detail in GT5 Prologue yet they still say Forza 4 is the best racing game ever. I'm not hating on Forza 4, only the people who play it who are arrogant and think it's the best ever....

Re: GT5 Vs Forza 4 Motorsport

I have been playing Forza 4 since release with the new Fanatec CSR Wheel along with the Fanatec Clubsport pedals and Shifters and have to say Forza 4 with this setup is pretty good indeed.

Now as a comparison i was using the old MIcrosoft Wheel which was all but useless as those that have used it will confess too. So using the updated Fanatec CSR Wheel and getting your head round the physics and what they are relaying to you Forza 4 is by far the best racing game on the Xbox.

So as the Fanatec CSR is multiplatfom i have had a few hours with the wheel within GT5 and have not got the settings within the wheel to make GT5 feel as it had done with the Logitech G25.

Forza 4 to me seems a little more light on the feeling you get through the Fanatec CSR wheel than GT5 which has that well GT feel, not light but for me just right. Now i may finally get a setup through the Fanatec CSR that works within GT5 but at the moment im not quite there plus Spec 2.0 may of thrown me off a bit, not sure there.

As ive mentioned before both Forza 4 and GT5 are fantastic games, both have good and bad points but unless you own both consoles you can only play Forza 4 on the Xbox and GT5 on the PS3 as both games are not available as multiplatform.

To be honest if i get the Fanatec CSR to give me the feeling i desire though GT5 then i would give GT5 the edge over Forza 4.

GT5 has cleaner, less cluttered track detail without over detailing the surroundings. Plus the PS3 has a good clean sound and graphics just right for a simulator as GT provides. Both games have their ups and downs on handling although GT5 seems more right than F4, saying that this also depends on the hardware you are using for your driving experience.

Oh the A.I. in F4 are just a bit aggresive to the point of running you clean of the road, they definatelly require a special way to manouver round em cleanly. They are both car games with alot of similar cars and tracks, heck there are only so many cars and tracks in the world eh ?

Anyways i like em both at the moment as i do F1 2011 on the Xbox.

I kinda look at the PS3 as my own Race Simulator as GT5 is the only game i play on the PS3, if i can get the Fanatec CSR to be as i like then i can keep the same Wheel and Pedals, Shifter on my race rig as was the intention although if i cant get the Fanatec to work like the G25 then on goes the G25 for GT5, just the way it is sometimes.

Just be a fan of whats good, for those that can enjoy both games for what they are then all's good in the world of driving cars, we have never had it so good in 2011 for racing games on both consoles.

Re: GT5 Vs Forza 4 Motorsport

I would like to have chat with the guy who ordered some specific races for Forza 4, since there is there hilariously idiotic races against a single car while there is infinite amount of slow cars blocking the way, and weirdly most races are done on Fujimi Kaido which is the most twistiest tracks in Forza.

It's almost impossible to win these events without hitting on other cars

not sure was T10's idea to make crashes looks cool in a racing game or provoke players to drive aggressively in real life traffic.

But if forgetting these stupid races, I find FM4 guite enjoyable

About to paint GT5 racing cars into that game soon

Re: GT5 Vs Forza 4 Motorsport

Eurogamer has done a Forza 4 V's GT5 Spec 2 video comparison, and they look very similiar, Forza 4 has obvious lighting benefits, whereas GT5 has some pretty good car models.

Make your own mind up which looks best.

Going by that video, it would appear that BOTH games suffer from a guy sitting inside your console hitting pause and play very quickly,, while i cannot speak for Forza 4, i can speak for GT5, and MY GAME, doesn't do that, at all

Also, one thing which is getting a bit weird now is the way people hinge their purchases on these kind of videos, i mean, the test they have showen, shows a few sections where there is frame drops, which BTW recover in a second, but this is something that people wouldnt notice for the majority of time they play.

Another thing to point out here is that one game (GT5) uses Dynamic Lighting, while the other uses image based lighting,, two different techniques, there are other differences like this which pretty much mean a few frame drops in GT5 are acceptable considering its doing MORE.

More? don't you mean MUCH more

Would also like to point out that eurogamer lie about their articles. Here is an example.

Re: GT5 Vs Forza 4 Motorsport

hilarious pics there :smileyvery-happy:

Most FM4 fans are now showing off the fact their game got more score at MetaCritic, while I believe most of us knows that those scores cannot be trusted at all (Some developers loves to boost their products)

And mainly, if an Xbox focused magazine reviews an Ps3 title, it's obvious it cannot get highscore from it

FM vs GT is somewhat pointless when rivals cant be more neutrals, it's more about "console fanatism" while most PC simulator "drivers" does dislike and overlook both series because those happen to be for console only

PS. I bet, if GT or Forza would be available for PC too, those "sim" drivers would leave iRacing for sure

I betting you'd be right.

But at the same time, i know there is still this backward assumption that - because you pay for something or pay extra like via a subscription, it MUST therfor be better and superior, so i know there will still be many who wouldnt leave the likes of iRacing.

Its also why im confused when it comes to people continuing to stay with xbox live?
