Great Cars:
Enzo Ferrari
Mazda 787b Race Car
Ferrari Italia
Ford GT Test Car (for the Indianaopolis speedway in "Like The Wind")
Red Bull X1 Prototype (all around beast)
F1 Formula (for those times you want to do the Formula Challenge, Extreme Series)
Bad Cars:
NASCAR (unless your on one of the tracks with them)
Rally Cars (unless again your with them on dirt or snow)
Buggatti Veyron (Fast, Furious, but whats the point when you have to turn at like 50mph)
The Old WWII Cars (Why in the world would I pay like 600c for a car that does 25 bhp and is as slow as a go kart) At least some do have the propellors on to do some submarine time XD)

'audi r8 road car all tuned = worst handling car ive found. slips on even small bends. and no aero bits mean you cant do too much to help it.'
I really like this car tuned all the way but I had to lower it using adjustable suspension. Also adding a wing in the aero section helps.
Ps also changed the power distribution to 50/50 ie equal power to the front and rear tires to stop the back end flying out when you step back on the power after a turn.

Great Cars:
McLaren F1 Stealth - Awesome pre- order bonus, though it unfortunately starts coming up short in the later races like the all-stars, like the wind and the dream car championship. The 787B Stealth would have probably been a better pre-order if you canted a car to take you all the way to the Extreme Level races, nontheless it's still a great car.
Formula GT - Awesome for training otherwise terrible low-level B-Spec drivers in higher level races fast. Using it in any race other than the Formula Gran Turismo World Championship is practically cheating, because it pretty much kills everything. =p
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) '09 - After buying the racing modification and maxing out the tuning options, this became my main moneymaker for the Indy Track in the American Championship.
Nissan XANAVI NISMO Z (SUPER GT) '06 - My go-to car for the Super GT Race. Even in the wet tracks, it handled like a dream.
Nissan Tuned 370Z (GT Academy) - After struggling with it for hours in the GT Acadamy trying to do a clean lap with the DS3 controller and eventually doing clean laps and shaving seconds off each consecutive lap, I've developed an appreciation for this car. After I found out that this car was obtainable by using a Level 12 ticket won from getting all golds in the Professional series (and backing up your save to a USB drive and reloading it until you get the car you want) I know I had to get it and now it's one of my faves.
Not -so-great cars:
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '09 - yes, it goes insanely fast in a straight line but if you aren't racing in tracks like the high speed ring, indy or daytona ovals, you are going to get raped in the corners by better handling cars. Still, it did it's job making me money in the Turbo race, so it's not all that bad... =p
NASCAR Cars - Maybe it's because I'm playing with a DS3 controller instead of a racing wheel, but the NASCAR Challenges and the NASCAR Race at the Daytona Oval track, where you need to practice precision drafting tehniques to get ahead is absolutely frustrating. Glad I was able to get overall Gold in the NASCAR championship, because I wound up dead last in that Daytona Ring... >.<
Standard Cars (in general) - Don't get me wrong, I'm still glad Polyphony ported in a bunch of my favorite cars from GT4 to GT5. But still, the difference between a Premium car and a Standard car is like night and day. With the majority of the crappy used cars that I'm only going to use for one set of races, I don't really mind. It's the ones I want to stick with like the Minolta or the FGT that make me wish a Premium option was available.

Cannot edit the Original post anymore so here is what we have so far:
blue: most votes in the category
The great list: cars you like, which can be based on handling, speed, or just the way they look
The not so great list: cars which you feel don't live up to their name, or a disapiontment

Great:
Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 - Ive tested 70 modern cars (1980 upwards) on the top gear track and this handled like an absolute dream and is actually the fastest car with FF drivetrain (so far that is)
Jensen Interceptor MkIII '74 - Brilliant classic car, looks amazing and really fun to drive with its older suspension ![]()
Lotus Esprit 350 Sport - Matched the lap time of the Audi R8, nice top speed and world class handling
BMW M5 '08 - Actually beat the R8's time, insane performance for a 4 door car
Not so great:
Volkswagen Golf IV GTI '01 - handling is below average imo and surprisingly slow, the benz patent motor wagen accelerates faster than this...

I'm unable to describe how I feel about that post... you put Plymouth on bad tier cars and a Prius, Civic, PT Cruiser and a godforsaken Prowler on good tier...
... Anyway:
Good Tier:
Mercedes 300SL
Sauber Mercedes C9
Nissan R92CP
Corvette Coupe '62
Nissan GT-R
Plymouth Superbird
Mercedes SLS
Toyota 2000GT
Bad Tier:
Toyota Prius (all of them)
... and that's it I guess, the remaining ones are rather acceptbale I think.
