GT5 half way done and Paid DLC

Does anyone have any idea whether PD is going to charge us for things they didn't have time to prepare before the release of GT5?

As I progressed into GT5 little by little I realised, that this game is not even unfinished! If we took only cars into the consideration this game is not 1/5 way done! But forget cars, I have tears in the corners of my eyes every time I have to participate in a race where no premium cars are available...

What's the deal with only 8 helmets and only 8 outfits?

Why so little variety and customization when it comes to making my own race? If I got it right I have to make a car my favourite to race it in arcade mode?

Why there are so many games being released half way done and we get to be beta testers and we have topay for it (Cliffs of Dover)!

I really hope that Polyphony will make it up to us and release everything as a free DLC. As a PC sim racing fan I feel disappointed.

Re: GT5 half way done and Paid DLC

Your questions were asked exhaustively when the game was released back in November last year. The fact is that no-one knows what PD have planned for the game. We don't even know what they're doing in the next patch, let alone when (or even IF) were are going to get and DLCs and whether they will be paid or free.

Personally, I was initially supportive of PD and GT5, but over the months have lost all faith that it will ever become the game it should have been. It is what it is, like it or lump it. If PD ever do get around to finishing it off properly it will likely be far too late, because on their current time scale it will take years and no-one will be left playing it by then.

Thats what i like about the updates, somewhere online could be details of the next patch or something but i dont read up stuff about that so every biggish patch that comes from PD i find it quite exciting to find out what it is and the latest update really did have me excited because the day before i was saying to my brother that i wish i could customise my driver as the blue and silver get up was getting boring, now we have many to choose from and to win! I hope theres going to be more from PD as its getting better and better for GT5.

Let me just say this.

I would think it's fair to ask the same question to essentially every game released.

"Why didn't they do this?", or "Why did they do it this way instead of this way?"

Arguably there may be answers to these questions.

Some may agree with the answers, some may not.

Basically, like it or not, agree with it or not, find it disappointing or not, GT5 is what it is.

If it has it's downfalls, in your own personal opinion, then so be it and therefore the game didn't fill all your expectations.

For others, it's a great game, and they look forward to the next version.

To expect a company to provide free upgrades is really against almost any company's business model.

Maybe you feel that you 'deserve' something extra for free.

TBH, not sure why.

The game is what it is, and if it's free DLC that includes more tracks, more fully detailed cars, more modification options, etc. then perhaps simply waiting till the next version of the game is released is your best option.

PD are consistantly providing additional online activities that are 100% totally related to your initial purchase.

Surely that is enough.

Re: GT5 half way done and Paid DLC

I really think fo the time being you should think yourself lucky as you are getting stuff free with the updates. This is quite possibly what should have been in the game, but as Kaz mentioned a few months ago he originally wanted TWO more years before its released,. I think as some wise sage said to me a few months ago. Come November a Years anniversary and GT5 could look totaly different to what it was a year ago.

Lets keep hoping?

If you want to know just how well done GT5 is play shift 2. That game is horrid, its a pain to drive the cars the AI is constantly bumping into you on corners most of the time I wont even finish a race because its that bad to play. After I stopped I went back to GT5 and realised just how tight and well done the driving is.

Re: GT5 half way done and Paid DLC

Ditto to all 3 posts above....

I think free DLC is a bit much to expect. Given the free seasonals still being issued 6+ months after the release of the game, I think PD is being pretty generous. I'd certainly be willing to pay for DLC if they offered some decent DLC, so I am hoping that happens because I still love the game and want to keep playing. Even if nothing else arrives though, I figure I've paid about 10 cents an hour for all the entertainment GT5 has provided me since November... pretty good value!

And yeah, compared to Shift 2, I own them both and I'd rather grind on GT5 than work through Shift 2. That game was a HUGE disappointment. I know there is another entire sting on the Shift 2 issue... I'm just agreeing with Mike939's comment above.

Re: GT5 half way done and Paid DLC

i love GT5, but, i've just re-brought Forza 3 [Ultimate Edition] and while the cars don't handle as relisticaly the overall game is a better one

A+ on that statement Mike,

Shift 2 is just awful. The AI keep nerfing me off the track. How people turn round and say this is better than GT5 I laugh at them......

Everything free?!!! How many FREE updates have we had already?!

It would seem to me that PD are giving us the content that was surposed to be in the final game as free updates. I would presume that after this there could be 'pay for' DLC to keep the game fresh and get PD some cash while developing GT6.

I do not know what you think PD owe you since they are already giving us free updates! How many other console games offer free add ons?
