GT5 v2.0 update error - game corrupted

 Hey Everyone :smileyhappy:

I started the download for v2.0 (the 1GB download) and went to bed since my connection is slow. In the morning there was an installation error (code: 80029564).

Then I tried to update again I saw it was downloading a 608 MB update which was 1 of 10 updates... After it finished the first one it tries to install and gets to abou 15% then spits out that same error. I tried again with the same result.

I go into the game and it wants to create system files :smileysad:

It looks like my game is corrupted, although under arcade mode I see my favorites list (one car, the GT350, was not painted to how I painted it though). Also it is so very very slow when loading.

I sure hope this is not the end of my GT5.

It's probably the Game Data that's corrupted. Backup your save file, and delete the install under Game Data. You will have to install the game via the Disc and re-download all the patches to date.

Re: GT5 v2.0 update error - game corrupted

There's GT5 Platinum Edition now available, does anyone know if it has all updates so far, maybe even being an Spec 2.0? If it does, it could be an alternative to downloading all patches so far with slow connection?

No, the Platinum disc does not contain patch updates. TBH, following instructions like these maybe the best way around the issue : http://www.ps3blog.co.za/guides/how-to-download-game-patches-and-updates-via-your-pc/

Now that is a great tip, thank you Danlisa :smileyhappy:

With the unreliable interenet we have in this country this will be way better, and, well I hope, I can resume a download if my line drops.

Re: GT5 v2.0 update error - game corrupted

Oh no guy´s...

I think I have the same problem, but a little worse. I tried to update yesterday, and two days ago, and I get that same error code.

When I opened yesterday in GT5, which had not been updated, so it was really slow. When I looked at the GT Mode, so my profile picture was gone. When I looked in the garage, so all the Chrome Line, and Stealth car´s was gone. Some vehicles will not even visible image, but as the car's own logo.

Help ... And I do not have the latest backup. I do not want to lose everything after a long clearance. I hope that guy´s help me GT5 to get back into shape. Not that I'm able to back up save file to a USB.

Now I need some help.

Sincerely: Sad CrossUSAAF.

Re: GT5 v2.0 update error - game corrupted

Why can't you make a back-up?

GT5 does not make a copy of your progess file, you do that with the XMB, so as long as your PS3 works, then go make a back-up now and don't overwrite any previous back-up file with it. You do have more than one back-up file, right?

Once you have copied your game save, try deleting it off of the hard drive and starting a new game.

Do you still have the same problem? If you do then your game updates probably need re-installing.

[ Edited ]

Hello.

I deleted all the game data, except for GT5 Save File. Save File with all my car, but the stealth and Chrome Car's line has disappeared. Well, when I had just removed all the game files and play the game in the first version, so it all works, but the car sounds are not working.

I´Dont have the latest backup from my save file, and when I´m trying to copy save file to USB, I´Cant see USB in XMB. Is the problem now in my Game Disc, or save file ? I´Hope I´Can continue with my good save file. And tryed to update after reinstall, and same error result. Look´s like GT5 version 2.0 destroyed my game :smileysad:.

Re: GT5 v2.0 update error - game corrupted

It looks as if you may have more than one problem.

So long as you have at least one good copy of your GT5 game, then you should be able to recover from that point, but you need to work on why you can't copy your GT5 progress to USB (call SONY?), and you may have to re-install the game updates more than once, to get everything working.

Once you have a good copy of your GT5 progress, then delete all updates and re-install in one go. Don't stop until you have the latest version. Once you have installed all game updates, you can test to see that everything works first, before you restore your progress file. That may give you a clue as to whether your progress file itself is corrupted or not.

Thanks for your response MastrGT.

I´Have a 100% fresh copy of GT5, but what can be wrong ? Can a nice PS3 GT5 disc inside the data become corrupted ? Oh woe, expensive fine game. Just I´Dont know what i can do.:smileysad:.
