I've been trying and trying to get the trophy and I'm going insane!!!  I need to shave 3 seconds off my time but I just cant do it.

  Ive read other threads where guys say its not that hard if you do this and that with the settings.  I've tried everything and still can't manage it.  This is the hardest trophy I gone for in the game so far and I've got almost all of them.

PLEASE help.  Any advice on how to get this trophy would be great.

If your only 3 secs off the mark, my advise would be to take a look at some YouTube clips.

Perhaps then, by using sector times or landmarks, you could gauge which sections of the track you are loosing time on against those that have done it successfully, and concentrate on improving those sectors before trying the full lap again.

Hooray!!

Finally got the trophy.  Persistance pays off got atime of 7:28.515   I think I'm the happiest GT5er tonight!!!

Well Done. I got the trophy only a couple of weeks back, I attempted it countless times and failed, then I found another way to do it. The secret is to turn the "Grip Reduction on Track Edge" to "Low".
I think I was doing similar times to you, but with the right track setting I mannaged a crazy 6 seconds faster than the offical record!!!
