Gran Turismo 5 DLC & Update 2.08 Coming September 25

[ Edited ]

Quoted from GTPlanet:

As just announced on the PlayStation Blog, the next Gran Turismo 5 software update is coming on September 25, and will bring with it three new cars available to purchase as DLC for $0.99 each.

  • Nissan GT-R N24 GT Academy ’12
  • Subaru BR-Z S ’12
  • Honda Weider HSV-010 (SUPER GT) ’11

Software update 2.08 brings with it the following new features, in addition to correcting bugs and other issues:

  • Now possible to select “Disable collisions” in the [Event Settings] of online races.
  • ID’s are now shown above cars when watching online races.
  • Response of the clutch pedal when using the steering wheel controllers “G25 Racing Wheel”, “G27 Racing Wheel”, “T500RS” and “TH8RS” has been adjusted.
  • Rate of tire wear in endurance races has been slowed (excluding formula cars).
  • Amount of air resistance change when altering aerodynamic wing settings has been increased.
  • Autopilot has been adjusted to prevent colliding with the wall when exiting the pit lane on the Tsukuba circuit.
  • Adjusted the changes in control characteristic when altering vehicle height from standard height. (Vehicle height can be changed by adjusting ride height, either by installing a suspension kit or adjusting a full customizable suspension kit.)

I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty happy to see more content being added to GT5, even though I think its silly that PD will be charging for another version of GT-R and Toyota gt-86.. But the new Honda sure looks awesome. Also I'm glad we now have an option to disable car collisions completely! :smileyhappy:

Thanks for the news Guedes.

Like you non-plussed over the GTR and Scooby, but that Honda looks awesome, isn't that the same Honda that was loosely the new NSX concept, maybe, could be, ahh hell who cares, it looks GREAT!!!!! Hope it drives great too. :smileyvery-happy:

Also like the sound of the change to handling with height adjustment and higher air resistance with aero adjustment, in other words, more realism.

All in all, yep, gimme gimme gimme. :smileytongue:

You're welcome but the credits go entirely to GTPlanet, I'm merely passing the news to the forumees :smileyhappy: And yes I noticed that this Honda is similar with the NSX concept, probably Honda's designer got lazy and decided to leave some parts un touched.

I agree with that statement, there are loads of Japanese cars as it is, would be cool if we could see some standard cars upgraded to Premium like we got with the Jaguar XJ9, plus I think the chavs would be thankfull if PD threw in some Vauxhall Corsa's..

The worse GT5 DLC to date only 3 cars and few enhancements, wow I'm so looking forward to this. At least they could put in more than 3 cars, and I'm sick and tired PD keeping putting in jap cars in the game when there a DLC out

VW Golf & Scirocco weren't Japanese cars but agree there should be other cars made available than new variants of previously released cars but looks like beggers can't be choosers.

Subaru BRZ is the most interesting car to me from these three. I just wonder what the option to switch off car collisions means in practise, what happens if two players crash each other?

please no. i hate corsa's.

heres a list of vauxhalls on my GT wish list:

  • mk2 Vauxhall Cavalier 2ltr 8v SRi130
  • mk3 pre-facelift Vauxhall Cavalier 2ltr 8v SRi (with the mk2 20SEH SRi130 engine).
  • Vauxhall Omega B 3ltr V6 Elite
  • Vauxhall Omega B FL 3.2ltr MV6
  • Vauxhall Nova SR, GTE, GSI
  • Vauxhall Carlton GSi3000
  • mk1 Vauxhall Astra GTE
  • mk2 Vauxhall Astra GTE & SRi
  • mk3 Vauxhall Astra SRi, Cesaro Motorsport and GSi

would only like 2 modern vauxhalls and that is the Astra VXR and Vectra VXR.

ano that list is a bit big and will never happen but that is my wishlist.

vauxhalls never see much of games, when they do they only put a few in.

Pretty obvious answer... isn't it? When there is racing there will be someone ramming, blocking, lagging.. So disabling collisions entirely is a big plus for some racing dedicated lobbies. In 2 years I haven't had a single event where no one messed up the entire race for other players.. except perhaps on Special Stage Route X (it seems that some players can't handle more than 2 large banked corners). The good old Penalty system has proven to be quite unsuccessful and annoying at times.

It was a joke... if we were to get those models I'd rather get the real thing, Opel.

Too bad if any of these set wheels on GT5 with body part options, we would see lots of them totally ruined by ricers.
