Re: Gran Turismo 5 DLC now released

Not happy at all. Now my son who has a subaccount linked to mine cannot use any DLC that's released for GT5. Absolutely unfair.

RabidWalker, can you please find out what is happening with the Plus discount on the DLC? Thanks

Hi AJ2K&,

At  the moment there is no discount for Plus users for this content, I will keep tabs on this and if any news in regards to a discount is available I'll update.

Big issue here.

Store states the content can be used on 5 activated PS3 systems. Bought this on my kids account as I do with games rated appropriately then tried to use it on my normal account to no avail.

The store does not state this content is tied to a single account, so I've had no choice but to purchase it again under my login on the same PS3.

PSN support are currently following this up and hopefully will credit the 1st purchase back.

Sorry but not paying twice to use on two logins on the same PS3, I don't have to buy two discs do I!

Hi Keyop,

The description on the store advises you can find out more information regarding Gran Turismo DLC at eu.gran-turismo.com.

The GT site advises:

This is a notice regarding the Gran Turismo 5 DLC, for those who have multiple accounts on the PlayStation®Network.

The DLC released on October 18th is tied to the Account ID used to purchase the DLC. It is not possible to use the DLC with accounts other than the one that was used to make the actual purchase. Therefore please make sure to purchase the DLC with the account that is used to play Gran Turismo 5.

The specific link can be found here: http://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt5news/d36007.html

Rabid

The post on the website and the in game message did not appear until some time after I'd made the purchase.

Something as important as locking the download to one account should be mentioned in the store description, it has been on previous titles that work that way. The fact that it said it can be used on up to 5 PS3 systems led me to believe it operated in the same way as almost all PSN store content does.

Had I known this was the case I'd have simply purchased it on my online account instead of the account that I buy my family games on. It's no big deal if important information like this is displayed up front.

As it stands I had to purchase it again, on the same ps3 (so much for activated systems).

Needless to say I'm chasing a credit for the initial purchase that I can't use on my racing rig.

Thanks for replying RabidWalker,

The blog post (GT5 Update 2.0 & DLC) states that ' there is also a special PlayStation Plus Bundle Price for one month (from 18th October) of only €8.99.'

The discount should be there from today.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 DLC now released

I have had no problem in getting the dlc, bought it in one package and the download was pretty mutch instant, by the way it does say you can only use it with one account on the gt website.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 DLC now released

right the OP has this paragraph at the bottom

" Each of the above content packs are available for purchase separately or as a Complete Pack bundle at a special price, with even more great deals for PlayStation Plus members – so speed over to PlayStation Store now and download some great new content for Gran Turismo 5."

now surely to have this get to store now should mean ps plus discounts to ?

I agree. The blog post and the OP says that the discount is available from today, so where is it?

True but that little bit of info was not present for approx the first 2 hours.

If SCEE are that bothered about it, they can check purchase times and cross refference it with the time stamp on the GT Home page.

At the end of the day, the Store were hasty in putting the usual information on the listing and PD were late posting the accurate situation.

Exactly, it was at least an hour or two before the lock information was available. My in game news merely stated the dlc pack was available, later on there was an additional item stating it was account locked, I'd already had to buy it twice by that point.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 DLC now released

Personally my opinion of the DLC, in the immortal words of Peter Griffin is "Freakin' Sweet". :Stupid:

I have no complaints, if this is to be the first of hopefully many DLC's I think the future is bright.

I have 2 niggles, not complaints just minor irritants, but they don't actually affect the quality of it.

i) You can change the numbers on every car that has them, except the GTR R35 TC, don't know if this was an oversight or deliberate, it would have been nice but hey ho, no biggie.

ii) Given I did win the 2010 Jeff Gordon race suit in the Seasonal Nascar Event, did I really need to get it again?, but again out of all the other suits/helmets/outfits available, I'm not going to ***** about it too much.

Otherwise all good.

The cars, brilliant, love the R35 GTR TC, blindingly fast and great handling. Question, am I the only one thinks the Prius TC an odd choice?, still gotta admit, it's original!

The tracks, the Kart track is great fun, but Spa, I AM NOT WORTHY, it has always been my favourite track, a TRUE race track with a soul, not these insepid modern excuses that F1 keeps adding to the calender or the past classics that have been "immasculated" like Hockenheim. It's been beautifully rendered and is a real joy to drive. :Winner:

Outfits, lots and lots of goodies and yes I admit it I had to ensure that both Stig suits were worn by drivers one me one a "Bob".

The paints, my only complaint is how do I choose what cars they can do the most justice to???

Yes, all in all IMO a good buy and I look forward to more DLC in the future.
