Re: Gran Turismo 5 - The Trophy List

As people can say YES I'm a trophy hunter and love to play games as a way to chill out but after playing this game I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED. With 2 target times you have to achieve vettel difficult but achievable the 8C eiger nordwand short track special event  IMPOSSIBLE after all the updates I've golded every race in the game with some skill I do have of driving. The car alone understeers to the max, also before I get hammered by everyone yes I drive on a wheel with no TCS or AS.

I've spent months racing and re-racing this event and can't get better than 1:17.3xx that is perthetic after a week on every vettel race I gold the race but this 3 months and nothing better than a low silver time close to the gold fix the car so it steers PD or going to lose a lot of fans over it.

Cheers to all gt fans

Re: Gran Turismo 5 - The Trophy List

[ Edited ]

I will check tonight, but I am pretty sure I got gold in that one.

Disappointing thing is that even if you get all golds on that special event, there is no reward in game.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 - The Trophy List

I checked mine on Sunday and had silvers for both that one and the night lambo one. Slack I know!

Anyway, I tried a few things with the 8C, I golded it twice and actually found the night lambo one harder.

I used the normal controller during these tests so I needed some level of TCS.

The less you need, the better time you'll get, I got 1:17:xxx on TCS 3, just not enough to pass.

1:16:9xx on TCS of 2.
1:16:8xx on TCS of 1.
ABS I tried on 0, 1 and 10. 10 definitely worked best for me.
I set the Skid Recovery Force on.
Active Steering I set to Mild.
ASM: Definitely off.
Controller Sensitivity I usually have on 7.

The only other tip I can note is that I don't have the foot down whenever an event is a standing start, as opposed to a rolling start, I only floor it just as the countdown '1' fades away.

With this car, I tested different methods of negotiating the corners, I found it was best to brake as per normal but to do a very minor handbrake tail flick at the very end to get on the driving line quicker. If you handbrake too much, the car loses traction and while it's spinning and going nowhere, your losing precious time. Basically, brake well, then tail flick to get your line, the more straight lines you can make on this track the better. It did feel weird to do it this way but the loss of traction is what costs the most time in this car. It felt slower because I wasn't flooring it, but maintaining a good line and rolling through is quicker. There a couple of corners that you can make better straight lines out of by ignoring the driving line. The key is to make as many straights as possible by going wider then flicking the tail into line, once the car is on that line, it doesn't have the same traction problem and you can floor it. Sacrifice a little on the corner to get your line right and you'll make it up easily. Just stop those wheels spinning!

Other than that, just keep trying to beat your own times through each time-check, you will get the time you need eventually.
