Well i think it is, nothing comes for free there. You realy gotta fight for it.
I have unlocked the long hours races to, but that and the "Formula gran turismo championship" is just to much for me.
But hands up for those who beat it and the enduriance races, i just had enough now and think it's time to stop before it get's out of hand with time used on this game and BIIIIIIG fustrations from time to time.
I just had to let some steam out here, good luck with the game guys :)
Its only hard untill you get to first place since the AI hasn't heard of the 'slow entry, fast exit' rule and end up blocking you a lot of the time, once youre there its easy to keep it ;)
There's always one in the online dealership mate, just the colour changes from week to week.
Just a quick note, on the Monza and Suzuka races in the wet, don't use the wet tyres stick with racing soft and you will walk it!
I won with a gap of 50 seconds and 1 minute:34 second on these races even lapping about ten cars on Suzuka!
Keep your revs down in lower gears though else you will spin out.
im still waiting to get the bloody car. saw it for sale once and was off the price by one mill. im now level 26 and i still havnt seen it again. im now begining to think its not coming back up for sale.
thats the only race i need to finish in a spec bar the endurance ones so im alittle peed off with it.
If you have the latest update for GT5 then this is when the Online Collector's dealership comes in. The used cars in here do not change until the Seasonal Events are updated, giving you lots of time to save up for the cars in there.
Plus i heard that the cars in the Online Dealership, for a limited period of time are brand new (0 km/miles) AND half price! I saw the Formula Gran Turismo in there for around 2 million when it usually costs 4 million. Grab yourself a great deal while you still can berniecon :smileyhappy: !
I'm attempting to do these now. Can't get to grips with it .
anyone got any good set ups for Fuji??
there is 4 f1 style cars in the game. you have the ferrari f10 last years f1 car. ferrari f2007 the 2007 f1 car. the formula gran turismo race car made by polyphony digital and the rebull x1.
the only one you can use in the formula gran turismo race is the formula fran turismo by polyphony digital. it gets unlocked at level 24 and youll find it in the used car section where it will cost you 4.8mill.
the others, ferraris 2 cars can be bought at level 23 for 10 and 12.5 mill in their dealership. they cannot be used in a spec though. only in practice and online atm. the redbull x1 has two ways of unlocking. one is reach a spec level 30 and complete the challenge that gets unlocked or reach b spec level 35. im not sure if you can use the x1 in a spec or not as i dont have one.
Tried this championship and first race ended me being 12th, heh I just couldnt keep up with the AI here, in GT4 I had similar problems but I actually won it, this one needs practice, alot.
If things goes desperate, I will hire The Stig to do the race for me
so weird i never once had a weather change while doing these events =( i wish it would have been more interesting was always sunny!
I'm still yet to tackle this event.
Currently doing endurance events to rack up the miles in the FGT hoping that this will help my chances.
From what I've read in this thread, it's going to be a tough battle.
just don't have the time to do five 20 lap races, haven't bothered to do dream car either yet
But Historic race event was very difficult, took me best part of a day to get used to the shelby COBRA
Had a go at it on Friday and managed bronze - would have gotten gold if it weren't for me slipping out on the last lap at suzuka - I got too complacent and lost focus! I was pleased to improve with a 7th place on monaco, but also only got 4th on nurburg/gp which was very frustrating. After practice it is quite rewarding to complete this challenge and I'll be trying for gold again tonight! Raising your suspension a couple of mils also helps a bit imo.
Good luck to y'all ;)
in b-spec for your transmission Click 2 notches up for a low gear ratio on races with long straights for more top speed and 2 notches down high gear ratio for races with a lot of bends for faster acceleration, won b spec championship first time round with all golds also make sure you have soft racing tires they have the best grip, also timing pitstops can make all the difference, most of the ai drivers will pit in at around 29 to 30 lap mark on a 37 lap race and around 27 to 29 on a 30 lap race pitting a lap before the others lets them eat your dust on the next lap :) Also ease off the increase speed when starting races it just causes you to overheat your tires, use the overtake function especially round bends, you can use it just to catch up but only need to press it once as when your behind cars you are always hot instead of cool which means bob is accelerating until there are no cars near then hit the overtake function, i only use the increase speed when i'm in 1st position when the ai is a bit too close behind.
can't you use the RedBull X1 to do the races?
I would rehaul the engine, and body rigidity if you haven't already, This will improve the performance.
i finally got mine today. im using mine as we speak in the championship. all i did to mine is put racing soft tyres on. everything else is left alone bar brake bias. i won the first two races comfortably. monaco came and i felt the gearing pain there. i was being left for dead on the short straights but as soon as the corners came i was flying. i finished 3rd in that race mainly because i got up to first and the stupid ai out braked himself and rammed me into the barriers. i went from first to 9th and clawed my way back up but didnt have enough laps to win.
my last race at the nurburgring was an epic.
heres the gist
it started off with me banzai'ing my way into first at the first corner because the ai was really slow. lead for ages with a group of cars right up my *****. i had to push really really hard and nearly messed up a few times but got lucky. about mid way through the race the tail end of the group started to fall behind leaving me and about 4 cars behind. after lap14 the 3 out the 4 cars behind started to spin at the last chicane so it was me and one guy. my god he pushed me hard.
i was setting fastest lap and fastest lap and it felt like i holding the last guy up. alas with 3 laps to go coming out of the hairpin he spun. all i could think off at that stage was the lyrics from a linkin park song "you cant keep up the pace is too fast, you just wont last". i had a little giggle when that popped into my head.
i must say that was by far the hardest race ive had in gt5. no other race even comes close.
i still have two races to go but i have to go into college for a few hours so it will have to wait till after tea. im not happy having to leave my ps3 on pause though. why didnt pd add in a save feature between races of a championship like they did in gt4. like 6 races that are around 20-30 mins each. not everyone has that kind of time to spare.
Ye it really is nice to have a race like this :).
My ps3 hasn't been turned of in like 30 hours lol.
Yep....still waiting to finally find one to buy, so I can at least try.
Can't wait to give it a shot.
Seriously....what a great game.
