How do I get feedback on balancing and bugs to PDI for future updates?

Firstly, GT5 is great.

Secondly it is buggy.

Thirdly, I cannot find a way of getting this message across to PDI so I'd like to ask here how to do this.

The problems I've encountered with GT5 are not critical per see but I want the platinum trophy for the effort I've put into the game and I'm stuck for seemingly pointless reasons.  The most current balancing problem I have is with the Jeff Gordon School - Advanced race 3 (Daytona).  I have attempted the race repeatedly for over an hour with the best result of 2nd.  It's simply too hard.  Update 1.06 (all updates are mandatory) caused the whole Advanced tier of the Nascar school to enforce ASM on the player which makes the race strange as the opposition don't seem to have it on their cars.  I follow a car into a corner and he zooms off while I stutter and limp on the same line.  I know this sounds like sour grapes but I don't want to have my game limited by a bloody silly insistance that I use ASM where I would never do so and haven't in the actual A-Spec events to great effect.  Prior to update 1.06 the event allowed you to decide for yourself whether to use ASM.  I want the ability to turn it off put back.

In an effort to undo the above update, I deleted the game data and unplugged my router so I could have a fresh copy of the game and gold the event under the original settings.  When I went into career mode I got a message which said something like 'gift car present_202b' which caused the career mode to crash.  The game then restarted career and I got the same message again and it looped endlessly until I quit back to the XMB.  I tried installing the game in full which had the same effect.  I've now plugged the router back in and am updating so GT5 will hopefully be back to normal when I look tomorrow.  I had the Scion DLC and GT Academy cars most recently installed which may explain the bug but it could be anything.  But where is the support?

Having worked as a games tester for EA in the past I understand the inportance of illegal operations from bugs and although I took a roundabout way of finding this one, I'll be citing it, and the poor balancing problems in some GT5 events, as examples of poor craftmanship for years.  Most games are well polished enough to allow a dedicated gamer the ability to achieve 100%.

The other glaringly obvious bug which I'd like PDI to fix is the B-Spec AI around Monaco.  The driver doesn't 'know' there are walls on overtaking lines coming out of the tunnel and into the chicane before the finish resulting in painful viewing.  I have two drivers at level 40 and neither can navigate Monaco without showing this one up.  In ordinary career mode I had a much quicker car so it wasn't a problem, but with the seasonal event B-Spec Challenge 5, race 3 the competition was much tighter and showed the bug in all it's glory.

PDI, if you are reading this, please fix these things, and if you are someone who knows how to get in contact with someone at PDI, please let me know.

I believe you must delete all the dlc cars and then you can reload the data. You might loose the academy car but I'm not sure.

I haven't heard a complaint about this NASCAR challenge in ages, even from new players, so I figured it wasn't much of an issue still. Are you using a wheel or controller? (I read your other post)

SONY has eyes watching this forum, so you have posted in the right place.

There seems to be no way to recover from the loss of Academy DLC, so you may have lost some permanently.

Just to see how bad these three tests were, I ran them now. Now, remember, I hadn't seen them in I don't know how long...

The first one took a couple of attempts, the second one was gold on the first complete lap, and the third one took maybe 8 tries while trying to figure out strategy. If you cross the finish line at the end of the first lap with a time difference of less than .780, you can beat it with a tiny bit of blocking. Draft very accurately.

not that fixed nascar was easy but it is not your biggest worry should you really want platinum.

you probably will face at least a few more "problems" on your way to platinum :smileyhappy:

Ach, I know I'll crack it eventually.  I'll have a couple of goes a day and eventually I'll nail it.  I'm saying the difficulty is too high now.  Come on, do I really have to learn how to drive with ASM on when I'm better without it.  They could include a preference for ASM in the briefing screen before the race but allow the player to change it; this might still give players who rarely use ASM a few goes with it on for kicks, but now I'd like to turn it off please.  To me, it's like installing an intentionally slow clutch in a race car and saying "hav at thee my good fellow."

It is what it is and you only have to do it once.

While the ASM may be slowing you down, work the drafting aspect to speed up. The strategy and technique is more difficult than anything else.

if i'm not mistaken "asm on" was forced pre and after patch. it was abs that was fixed. pre-patch you could turn abs off (which also turned off asm). that "abs off" option was fixed with patch.

Probably because most of us who would otherwise complain realise the futility of doing so Mastr.  I have no intention of learning to drive a Nascar with a fictitious Nascar ASM set to on. I am quite happy with my own driving style and have no desire to change it because some moron thinks Nascars have ASM.

I do agree with the OP though - it's too hard. Also it is wrong to move the goal posts when, prior to the update, so many people had already passed this special event - circumventing the forced ASM - by meddling with the ABS.

Prior to updating the account I had made for my Nephew a while back, I passed that particular test with ease using the cheat. I couldn't get better than 2nd place after fully updating and still can't. Ok, I'm not as good as you Mastr but I did share 3,691st place from the 90,000+ entrants for the UK and N.Ireland contingent in the recent Academy which equates to the top 4%. locally and roughly the same globally?  I don't think it's unreasonable for the top 10% of players to expect to be in with a shot at a test.

Lol - hark at me go on. I obviously feel more strongly about this than I originally thought! :smileytongue:

It's not that I'm that good. The challenge is more in strategy than the driving. Driving the car was the easy part.
