Yep, Hori FS3 FTW.....

Plus i have a Logitech Driving Force GT .........who needs a G25 or G27 FTW :smileytongue:
So a bit over $400 for my driving setup, and it kicks ass :smileyhappy:

On a serious note, i'm pretty used to the wheel, i used to just use the controller and find it easier, but being only a casual driver i just want to make it a sim as much as possible. It's all a bit of fun, i'm not out to break any records thats for sure !!

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

Well I built my own seat raiser and ended up breaking the seat... but wile you building stuff you might want to build something to stop the seat from flexing back

and did you know the company is based in Adelaide :smileywink:

it is a fantastic cockpit for the money considering it is the cheapest on the market

I used to have a cool sig and avatar, but they don't work anymore :smileysad:

Do you have one of these also PAPO ??

In what way did the seat break ??

I haven't actually got yet, its on its way so i'll wait till it gets here before i do any more to the seat raiser and look at maybe putting a support behind the seat so it can't flex back. I'll have to check it out to see where possible stress points are......

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

because the underneath wasn't supported well enough (even with my piece of wood) one of the spots where the bolts are completely gave way (after taking some damage when I was only using washers and no wood)

here's what I had http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1aanlaqTXU (about 4min in will give you a good look)

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

A couple of things i noticed PAPO, is that strap down the centre to stop the front end sliding forward ?? cuz judging by the pics there is nothing to stop it happening, so what i'm gonna do is drill a few holes in both sides of the frame, about an inch apart so its still adjustable and put small bolts in them to secure it.
Also are the straps on the wheel mount to stop it from moving ?? also judging by the pics it looks like it might have a bit of movement, if so what i will do is bolt a thin support bar down either side of the wheel mount. As for the seat raiser, i'll be building a box and bolting that to the frame, and the seat to that.

Anyways when i've done it i'll post some pics here :smileyhappy:

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

yeh there's a little bit of flex (partially 'cause the Porsche brake is really firm) but it was more 'cause the wheel sat too high for me unless I made the pedals too close

and I've been thinking of drilling in the sides but every now and then I may make some minor adjustments (and I don't want to F it up) so what I do is make the strap shorter then stretch it out each time I play

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

Re: Hyperdrive Racing Cockpits

A DIY seat raiser should be pretty simple with that setup... unbolt the seat, put in the desired spacer bolt back together with longer bolts... A nice light moveable setup there mate.
