I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

Over the last couple of weeks, I've had intermittent problems with seasonal events, particularly La Festa Cavallino, and Super GT.

The problem is that after selecting a race, the load screen comes on, the blue bar fills up, and then nothing else happens.

Then I have to quit the game, and restart all over again.

The other problem (which I suspect is related) is the amount of time it takes the game to load.  Which I suspect is something to do with me struggling to connect with the game servers, as I have had error messages telling me that I can't connect to them.

Is this a problem at my end?

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

It might be your internet connection. Find out what your signal streangth is and try to switch off any equipment that uses the internet, like your computer.:smileywink:

Then try to connect to the servers.

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

Just as something to consider, at my house we have a wireless box that if mobile phones go near it the internet signal significantly drops. Perhaps turn anything off that gives out electronic signals? Or move the wireless box closer to playstation?

Are these non smart mobile phones  or smart mobiles that uses 3g and wireless?

If they are smart phones then make sure you have your security set on your wireless box that only mac addresses that you provide can acess your wiireless box (thus internet). It also might be worth while to ban mobiles from using the wireles in the house when you are on the PS3 (just a thought).

As to the OP's post well if you are running wireless then I seriously would reconsider using wired.

If you are playing wirelessly how far is the PS3 away from your acess point (wwireless router) secondly make sure you have sufficient security set on your Wirless box, like the afore mentioned mac address filter. it makes your life a whole lot easier.

Ignoring MAC addresses except those from a list is about as secure as using WEP instead of WPA.

Just saying.

I'd also like to hear how using a wired connection affects this problem. It's just that I doubt wireless is really the cause. If it was, then there should be thousands of others also having the same problem.

If it is, then I am really interested in why.

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

GT has gone bad online since store was switched back on im sorry to say. I haven't really grumbled because of all the probs Japan has had, but it really is making me dread playing GT5 now, sometimes it can take 15mins just to get to GT lounge. there is nothing wrong with my port configuration or internet it`s simply GT servers. lots of my friends have same prob it really is hit nd miss, sometimes good mostly bad though with the GT servers, Hopefully something they are aware of and sorting. Just strange it was fine when PSN came back but went pair shaped when store was re-enabled.

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

PD are in the process of moving a team across to Fukuoka in the west part of Japan following the recent trauma, so I believe this is to bring more stability to the online portion of the game.

Its not to bad for me online tho. Some games take a while to load and then I cant get in so I try another and its fine. Considering my crap connection I rarely suffer any lag online which also believes me to think its peoples connections as well not talking to the servers as good as they should be.

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

Cheers for the replies folks.

I've hit the problem of races not loading on the Formula GT in the A-Spec races.  So I now doubt it is to do with my problem with the servers.

So I've deleted the installed files and re-installing them.

Re: I'm Getting Sick Of It!!!

If you have not done it yet I would put you PS3 in the DMZ zone of
your router. Stop's the in built firewall to cause lag or long server connections.
