Hey guys,
I just thought I'd give you a quick heads-up about the GT5 install.
There are 2 install options available to you:
1. Bulk install
2. Install on the fly
Bulk install is just a straight up install option. This will install 6.4GB of data to your HDD drive. That data is information that would otherwise take a long time to load from a Blu-Ray; such as cars, textures and tracks.
Install on the fly will install the same data as described above, but will only do so once you access that data. In other words, install on the fly wont install the Nurburgring track to your HDD until the first time you try to load it. This makes accessing new menus, cars and tracks slow - but only for the first time you access them.
Obviously, if you're hideously excited and can't bear to wait 40 minutes for the bulk install, go for on the fly. However, I highly recommend you set some time aside to do the bulk install - especially before you go online. Just set it going, then make yourself a nice hot meal - it'll probably be the last one you eat for a few days after starting GT5 anyway ![]()
Of course, you can also choose to 'stop installing data' from the options menu. This will force your PS3 to load all data from the Blu-Ray instead of installing it.
Whatever you choose, enjoy Gran Turismo 5 when you get your hands on it - and I'll see you in my Viper SRT-10 on Nurburgring ![]()

Informative!
I prefer to have the information here, rather than sending people to other websites. Besides, there's a bit more info here than in that article ![]()

I think I'll go for a full install at the start and get it all out the way. It feels like I've waited years, a few more hours wont hurt.
