Can I download the latest GT5 patch to a USB stick on my computer then run the update with the stick plugged into  PS3 USB port?

am i supposed to wait 40 min>>>because mine gets down to 1 min everytime then stalls forceing me to cancel the install...also i have never seen the option for the install on the fly...or does it just do it by itself?

mine goes down to 1 sec then that disapears and it freezes....well i can only push PS button to quit......tried 30 times now   *****    NEED HELP

Hi I have just bought a ps3 2 days ago 320GB and now when I load Grand tourismo 5 the system says there is not enough space on the hard drive and I need to free up space.  When I check the free space there is over 300GB?  Frustrating as I am new to this ex Xbox and already I`m getting annoyed

.  Help me please as the manual is no use and doesnt offer a solution to this problem. Many thanks

try formatting the HDD then reinstalling it. Formattining is in the settings menu on the PS3.

I had problems installing the optional update and with some races not loading. I rang Playstation and was told to try doing the update using a wired connection and make sure the relevant ports were open on my router. In the end i un-installed the game data then installed it again, after that everything was ok. The person i spoke to at Playstation said the optional update was not off the disc but was downloaded from the internet, when i finally got it on my router was inactive.
