Tired of GT5P? Had enough of the same cars, same tracks and same events?
WELCOME TO THE CLUB.
Here's the deal, for those of you who are looking for something a little different!
A return to the old school, a throwback for those of you who need to reacquaint themselves with their Gran Turismo roots again! The deal is SIMPLE. A one week Time Trial with Gran Turismo 4, a chance to take a hot lap around a circuit where legends are made and men are broken. The car is none other than the mighty....
THE LOTUS ESPRIT V8!

No Global Rankings Leaderboards, no rubbish tyre restrictions and NO BULL. The rules are plain as day!
CAR: 2002 Lotus Esprit V8
TRACK: Circuit de la Sarthe II
TYRES: N3 (Road Tyres)
AIDS: No thanks. NO TCS or ASM!
Gearbox: MANUAL or AUTO. You choose!
MODE: Arcade Time Trial A-spec ONLY. No GT Modes, no B-Spec garbage.
You have one week from the date of this post to throw up a time! Your HONOUR or your LIFE, this thread will rely heavily on the HONESTY of fellow drivers to post legitimate and fair lap records! As there are no central GLOBAL RANKINGS servers to verify times, each driver will be required to save (PS3 saves only) their fastest lap OR take a photo of their SESSION RECORD screen for verification by the TT Admin if requested! Admin will ask at random for a verification of your times, you must be willing to submit a screenshot or replay via email within 12 hours or your time will be forfeited from the leaderboard! Please note that any photos submitted must be CLEAR and must be full screen shots, showing top and bottom of the Session Record page.
Points will be awarded at the end of the week according to overall participation levels, default point scoring will be 100pts for 1st place, 10 points for 10th place with intervals of 10 points inbetween each position! I will update the leaderboard as the week progresses!
So.... are you ready?
Can you break 300km/h down Hunaudieres? Will you even make it to the start of the Mulsanne alive?

Hi all I won't be able to play this week so I hope you all enjoy yourselves, I'll be able to post using my phone but I'll be on holiday. So I can only spectate. If anyone wants to put up their videos of any laps I would quite enjoy watching anyway.
take care all see you in a week or so.

I'd really love to see video of your Clio run along with a description of how you did it.
In the meantime, enjoy your vacation.
I think seeing how it's done and actually being able to do it might be two very different things.. ![]()

AERO, there are a number of places you can run wide on this track and onto a red asphalt section.
Are these still considered track or out of bounds?
P.S. Sorry if I seem like the over exuberant pace setter at times , it's just that I get more time to do these TT's earlier in the week than later on. ![]()

Hmmm, what a car! Averaging a 4.xx.xxx atm, should find a big improvment soon
This car could be so much better with a 6-speed gearbox

I would be surpised if you where in the 5.xx.xxx's
and I feel a 3.xx.xxx is not possible without your "sixth gear"
Does anyone else find that after driving so long in a straight line, that the car forgets how to turn at the end of the Mulsanne Straight??

The red painted areas that you see on the track are out of bounds as they are generally outside the kerbing/ripple strips and are also outside the white painted lines.
I'm having huge fun in this car, I was really disappointed that it wasn't in Prologue, but I guess the Evora sorta makes a half step up for it. But the sound of that V8 engine is glorious and I love listening to the hiss of the turbo at full pelt.
The end of Hunaudieres is a real killer in this car at 300+km/h, I'm finding that I have to brake in two stages, first to shift down to fourth and then turn the corner and brake some more. Trying to bleed off 300km/h after the kink is impossible and I can't do it all in one shot!
Somebody help me!!!!
My first time so far: 4'24.032
Hopefully I can take a lot more time off that as the last part of my lap is rubbish, LOL!
