[ Edited ]

If you have been around here for a while, and I mean a few years, you may know all about this thread.
The Green Hell GT4 Time Trial.

With Gran Turismo 5's release date still in the abyss of the unknown,
and GT5p played so much it's bleeding on the floor, this is the perfect time to re-ignite The Green Hell TT.

Drivers, start your engines

.

This is also a bit of a personal mission for me, i did get gold back in the day, but never broke the 7 min barrier.

So ive decided to restart this for myself and also to the guys before us, they might not come here much,
if at all these days, but you know who you are....

Whos with me then.............

Couldnt go much further without mentioning Redgodzila, who ran this first time around!!

To remind everyone, here are the rules for The Green Hell TT. And the current leaderboard as it stands
at the moment:

Rules and Regulations:

All lap times must be completed at Licence S-16: 1 Lap Time Trial (Nurburgring)
GT Mode - Licence Centre - Special (Purple Cone) - Cone 16

You must stick to the typical driving etiquette that is held here at OPC. The track boundaries are denoted
by the white lines. At least two wheels must be inside those white lines at all times, so no cutting of
the corners. Kerbs are part of the track.

Lap Times: (Remember to save your laps!!)

Any lap time must be proven with a minimum of a single photo of the lap time. Either from the
display rankings section, the post race screen, or the replay theatre.

For lap times that are below 7'00.000, you will need to post your split times along with a picture
of your finishing lap time.

For lap times below 6'50.000, you will need to post photo confirmation of your split times, along
with your finishing lap time. As this will be more than a few photos, links to your photos would
probably be a better thing to do. You can get these pictures by replaying your lap in the replay theatre.

Re: OPC The Green Hell

wel, after seeing your re-ignition of the comp, i did get the wheel out, modified my stand a little, and fired up my senses. i did a couple of laps because driving an understeering race car at full tilt with the dfgt proper fries me out, and managed a 7.10 i think. then, friday night at work i did a 7.09.4, with a pad. i'll retry this again soon and upload my photo!

Re: OPC The Green Hell

yes, nice video. noticed a few things, he's very consistent, when he brought his ghost up it was right there. he carries a lot of speed through adenauer (dont-forget-to-turn-left) forst and hohe acht. he does something i really cant do: flat out at the double right at flugplatz. he nearly fails it many times too! but i also noticed he races with very little forcefeedback through his wheel, i find the dfgt's haptics to be very strong, maybes why i get tired driving the ring. lots for me to learn! PS what happened to red, art ukraine and the old team?

Re: OPC The Green Hell

Well, with this and the Rally 2010, looks like I am going to be GT4 busy for a while. Last time I show in the Merc was a humble 7.14 back in 2006. Plenty of room for improvement...

Re: OPC The Green Hell

I cant remember the times I got (or just don't want to) in the Merc but I am so looking

forward to doing the same in GT5, the nurburgring was (is) the Pièce de résistance

of GT4.

I find that also mate,it's a workout in itself doing one lap of the ring with this wheel!!Only when you do that though can you appreciate just how much more life like GT is with a wheel than a control pad.
