True.  I've just called SWEB and asked them to fire up the reserve reactor in preparation for my 60 gigger running the 24hr endoros.

id like this implemented as well. i work out that if you played 8 hours a day youd need to play the 24 races over 3 days min. with the current situation that means leaving your ps3 on for at least 72 hours most of it doing nothing, i believe leaving something on pause for that length cant be good for it.

the save feature imo should only allow you to save during pit stops. then when you exit the race you should only be able to go online with friends but not do any a or b spec races licenses or challenges etc.

that way it makes sure you have to finish the race before continuing but still keeps the online community going. ive often been asked by friends to race online when im in the middle of an endurance race, it would be nice to be able to save the race and go race with them.

I would prefer the option of having either an online friend or B-Spec driver take over from you at designated pit stops, at least you can then stint your driving.

Danlisa, they have these feature in GT4 (PS2 Edition) and I don't know why they chucked this idea out of the door.

In my point of view, doing a pitstop and save your game is a very good idea... yeah... not a bad idea at all...

Finally, its better to give your PS3 a rest. These console costs like crazy + YLOD problems. So, lets try and be sensible and be careful with our wallet.

I don't disagree with your request at all and, while I don't remember using it in GT4, I did complete the 24hr races, so I see no reason for it not to be in 5.

I personally have no issue leaving my PS3 running to do GT5's endurance races.  My 60gb has had more 'on time' doing Folding than I could ever possibly achieve in GT5.

Statistically speaking (based on my observations) YLOD's are most likely to occur when PS3s are given no 'cool down' period following extensive game sessions, so just set the Auto Shutdown feature to 1 hour and leave your PS3 on the XMB when you're finished gaming.

I agree, being able to save and resume endurance races is a must. I'm certainly not going to risk running the PS3 for +24 hours.

I did the 1000KM endurance race around the Suzuka circuit last night, and it took +6 hours due to the (virtual) rain. I really could have used a save/sleep/resume option while doing that. I can't imagine what the 24 hour races are like.

I didn't get to the endurance races yet, Saving in long races would be a good idea! Say that: when you pit, You get the option to save and can only load the save once, so you can't reload the save if you crash or loose the race.

It wasn't, only in a championship could you save at the end of a race, then when you switched on again you were taken straight to the next race, not in endurance races.

Yes, its in the championship and I think there is a save feature for endurance race aswell... or I must have lost some memories when I stop playing on my ps2. Well... I thrashed my ps2 because it died on me two years ago and it last me 4 years. Pretty robust...

Anyway, talking about this feature, it must be implemented. Most of us don't want to kill our PS3 just for letting it run like nutz. We also don't want to dump important task and say: "**** my job and finish this." Oh well... leaving it on all night and morning so you can un-pause it.... that is just overkill!! Ouch... ohlala-land... lets prepare to fork out another £299 (Approx) for another console due to excessive usage on your console.
