Re: Petiton to remove Copy Protection of GT5 game saves.

Since the save files are important per person, and we want absolutely no hacking of save files, the save files should be encrypted and locked to PSN ID.

End of story. I absolutely have no idea who at Sony came up with the idea that the game saves should be locked to PS3 instead of PSN ID. One MASSIVE mistake from Sony.

It is a major cause of user inconvenience, and this can even result in loss of new hardware sales!

Would a fat-Ps3 user buy a slim, after he sinks 200 hours to GT5 on his fat-PS3?

No.

Re: Petiton to remove Copy Protection of GT5 game saves.

Worse case scenario I know but what if the only way to allow you to make a back up copy once they have changed it is to start the game over, because of the conflicts between the two versions once you downloaded and installed the update?

There is one Idea I will put to sony is a BUK (Back Up Key) its a USB stick which is encoded with encryption (like the PS3 HDD) which can only be used on the PS3 eg: if you put it into a PC it will not show anything on it and you can use it PS3 to PS3 so long the PSN ID's match up by linking the seril number of the "BUK" to your PSN account.

Another is to have a backup through the PSN Network pretty much like the Trophies.

I know this probably won't change anything, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Signed!

I havent been able to put much time in yet because of exams but im the kinda person who wud put in atleast 200hrs in GT game. And god forbid anyting happens to my game save with 200hrs worth of progress, it will be suicidal! Game saves mean alot to me and i regularly back up my saves. I hope sony and PD can find a way around and also to keep abusers from exploiting game saves.
