Re: Got a GT4 Related Question? Get an Answer Here

I have more of a query than a question before the old forum went I asked what would peoples opinions on a clutch button be? I didn't get reply before so I thought I'd try again

So what are peoples opinions on a clutch button for future gt's

godzilla has two "l"'s can't ya spell anything right man. Your slang words lack form as well. Get a life Redgodzila.

Hey...it's his username...I repeat HIS username and it suits him. And he's been a member a hell of alot longer than you...most people your seeing on the screen have been on the previous forum...the older one. Everything isn't what you seem...you can't just go up to completly every member on this forum and tell them how to do things. Finally he's well respected on the Gran Turismo forums so I'd do the same because if you go against him...you go against everyone

Personally, I think its essential. But it should b an option so the game still caters to an audience that aint as serious as us bunch....
One thing that bothers me is how a clutch can b made to function like a real-life clutch. Every real-life car's clutch has a different sweet-spot/take up point. How can this b replicated? I think the best bet is a X-box style, pressure sensitive trigger. The 2nd prob would b the position of the trigger. Its gotta b in a spot that a finger would naturally reach without discomfort or compromise to the other moving fingers. Sadly, if the current design of the PS3 control is to remain, then I dought we'll see these features :smileysad: .
Still, i cant see why it couldnt b an option that is accessible via a steering and pedal system designed for GT5 :smileyhappy: . We'll see wont we :smileywink:

Re: Got a GT4 Related Question? Get an Answer Here

RE clutch.Im with mr zila on this,a clutch has a biting point which can be felt and this gives 'feel' which allows for a good level of control.(My old XR3 not included as it was like an on off switch!!).Ive already been modifying every set of peddles ive had to give me 'feel' with the brakes and ive got a passable amount of control.I just dont see the manufacturers getting it right for some time ,unless you are loaded and can buy the add ons from japan for the driving force pro, which for me is THE wheel to have.:smileyvery-happy:

PS mr zila, read about your controller, lmao, hats off to you dude for your times with a handful of buttons!!

I suppose your right there but my idea was also that the gearbox isn't set in the options menu rather you have to buy the car with gearbox you want (or specify with a new car) and then change it if you want. But also it could be linked to licenses e.g. no licenses you can only drive automatic cars. but then its just an idea I'd like to see although they probably won't do it.

Altough complicated, I quite like the idea  .

Maybe thats something they'll consider for GT9  It would b cool, yet there'd b to much red tape between carmakers that would have to b sorted through. In fact, it seems almost impossible :smileysad: . More the realm of a cheat disc me thinks.

Re: Got a GT4 Related Question? Get an Answer Here

You won't need a clutch button if u get logitechs new wheel, it goes one better and gives u a clutch pedal, with full 6 speed shifter. (refer to topic: 'What do you think of Logitech's G25 Steering Wheel?' for more info on the wheel)
