SFS (Sucker free Sunday) comes to blighty 11-04-2010

"Sucker free Sunday" is an open invitation to all GT Prologue racers to come down to a track each week and have some fun, and hopefully make some friends along the way.

Although it is at some short notice, I intend to run the first of these tomorrow - Sunday 11-04-2010.

Every week a specific track/car combination will be posted here on the OPC forum, and a set of "matching" times that drivers can start races at.

The idea is not so much of a tournement or league (no leaderboards or prizes), but more of a track day to get to know fellow drivers from this forum.

By getting you to use the specified car, once within a race you should be able to identify others from the forum by the fact they are running the same vehicle.

What you need to know.......

The car this week is the Lotus Evora

The track/event is the Expert PP550 at Daytona Speedway

The starting times will be 3,18,33 and 48 mins past the hour (Example - 10.03am, 10.18am, 10.33am etc)

More things to know.......

To make sure you sync with the starting times correctly please check you have set your PS3 clock.

(Goto - Settings - Date and Time Settings - and choose "Set via Internet")

The meaning of "Sucker Free" is that the racing should be clean, no bashing, no blocking, no corner cutting (at least not intentionaly).

Athough this is an all day event, with the idea that you join in at whatever time of the day is most suitable for you.

Until we get this started it will be unclear what times of the day drivers are most able to join in.

So if you know when you are likely to be on track please feel free to post in this thread and let others know.

If anyone is struggling with tuning for this event, there are several internet sources for Prologue tunes.

Or if you think you have a good tuning setup please post it here for others to try (I have my own which I will put here if requested).

Finally...

A single Evora will struggle against the Acura NSX's at this event, but teamwork slipstreaming can see you keeping up with them!

And a special thanks to Jayz606 and the TPRA team for allowing this title under license

I was liking the sound of this SFS thing, right up until I read "Daytona Speedway"...............

Good show SystemDek,

With a decent sized group its an absolute blast. With the 550PP level its not as "all out" fast as Daytona can be, but it makes for tight groups and close fun races.

Nice job Dek :-)

I am not a big fan of DSS either No46,

However it really is a good place to start since most of you have not spent much time together on the track. Its amazing how much actual track time it takes racing with someone before you are able to anticipate their moves and driving style.(Thus creating a more harmonious racing environment)

You may want to try and join in on the NA version of SFS which is Tuned Cappaccino's at Suzuka on R Tires. Start times are :13 and :43 past the hour each hour. This being an international event means that you will be able to race with the North American group as well.

Nice work Systemdek! Enjoy the racing everyone! :smileyhappy:

I have given a little notice on the OPC Gran Turismo Time Trial/Events thread that has been stickied here. Therefore it's always at the top, and very easy for anyone to find, if later on after a few Sundays people start to forget... which seems to happen a lot here when it comes to events.

I would join you but lack of a PAL disk prevents me from taking part in anything other than global events at this time. With luck GT5 wont see this limitation.

Send me a pm and lets talk about perhaps coordinating some world events, we have several early risers that would enjoy hooking up right about 1pm your time, and there would be a steady coming and going all day long from there.

Good luck and I hope you all have great fun today.
