Pedantic_roc,
I have my wheel plugged into the left hand usb socket and it makes no difference, and if i unplug the wheel from the mains when i turn the wheel left or right nothing happens in gt5 but the buttons and the rev lights work ok.
Thanx

Doesn't operate without mains power is somewhat alarming given that mine works just fine that way. I know it's probably daunting but, if I were you I'd seriously consider taking a look inside and make sure that the FFB motors are both secured. There are mod kits available but a simple twist of the screws is really all that's needed to keep them in place. Worth a shot don't you think? Sincerely wishing you eventual success with your problem.

So sorry Dunghead. After talking to my nephew - who built my rig - I discovered that you are right. G25/G27 does not, ordinarily, work without mains power. I have a seriously modified power supply with a gizmo that reads "Back emf" (whatever the heck that is) and a trickle charged back-up power supply - the latter I understand. My suggestion, to keep you driving while you find a solution to your problem, was utter gonads.
Sigh, sorry mate.
