I'm having serious problems with the G27 wheel, maybe it's just me or maybe someone else has the same problem, but when i try and use the wheel it's almost impossible to control it during a race.
The wheel turns left and right about 45 degrees very violently and continiously until car stops, without even touching the wheel or pedals.
I've tried adjusting all the different options for my wheel and all the driving options and nothing seems to help, only thing i have got to work is i've remapped the button config and everthing works ok.
I've also deleted the game data and the latest update (2.02), and reinstalled and redownloaded the update and the problems still there.
I also know that it's not the wheel thats faulty as i've tried it with F1 2010 AND F1 2011 and it works perfectly.
Anybody know if it's maybe a bug in the latest update???
Thanx

Not sure if you have noticed a change in behaviour but this sounds like the normal Force Feedback to me. The motors try to turn the wheel giving you the feeling of the pressure on the wheels and suspension. The wheel doesn't know that you have let go and continues to turn because you're not stopping it.
I haven't noticed any big change in force feedback since the last update. Did your wheel not do this before? Try driving your real car at 100mph then don't touch the wheel and pedals. The same thing should happen, "wheel will turn left and right violently and continuously until the cars stops." Please don't actually do that!
There are settings for feedback force somewhere in the options so turn this down if you find the pressure to violent. If you have noticed a change since the update then tell me the feedback/wheel settings you use and I'll give them a try to test them.

This can't be normal force feedback as it doesn't do it in F1 2010 OR 2011, also i don't think i'd be able to do a complete lap of any track in gt5 as it takes a lot of strength to actually control the wheel.
I only got my wheel yesterday so i dunno whether it would have been ok on a earlier update.
I've tried turning the force feedback down to 1 in the options and it makes no difference at all, also turning the FF off in the options does nothing.

Did a test with same car/same track with feedback strength at 8 then set to 1 and noticed a huge difference in the amount of feedback as expected.
When I first got my wheel, like many others I was surprised by the amount of pressure it can produce. It just takes a while to get used to it and work out how you can use the information from the force feedback to improve the way you drive the car. The best thing to do is drive lower powered cars at smooth speeds around the easier tracks and slowly work your way up to the 600bhp beasts.
If this doesn't help and you are convinced there is a real problem then I'm afraid I can't help any further. You either have an excessively overpowered wheel or underpowered arms.

I've just tried a 10BHP kart on superspeedway track with the steering settings set to:
Steering type: Amateur
Power assist: On (If i set this to off it's actually on)
Feedback strength: 1
Guess what, it's still a nightmare to control and i think if i try and fight it i'll actually break the internals of the wheel as it makes a really bad grinding/clicking sound.
How come i experience none of these problems on either F1 2010 or 2011, and altering the feedback strength actually works and turning it off turns the feedback off completely.
I really dunno, and i actuall bought this wheel mainly for GT5 as well.

I have tried a lower powered car as stated in my previous post, a 10 BHP kart.

I've been using a G27 since release, if anything i actually think the forcefeedback ahas been reduced in one of the earlier updates, i use mine with the FF on 10, no power assist and in simulation. I race with Jutngo (previous poster) a lot, he's possibly the smoothest driver i know with a G27 so i fear the problem may be on your end. Might be worth calling Logitech and explaining your problem, their tech support is pretty good.

I've just read the following on the logitech forums.
The wheel has a deadzone problem in the game which they (by they i mean polyphony digital or perhaps logitech?) seem to have overlooked and on straight roads the wheel begins to shake uncontrolable.
And this was another persons reply.
As far as GT5 and, the G27 are concerned however the "Wheel Chatter" found on v1.06 / v1.07 was fixed again with v1.09 & v1.10. As long as PD don't go screwing 'round with the Code again, it should be ok, that is to say it's about as good as it'll ever get.
My problem is i have a v1.07 wheel, is there any way of updating the firmware to the latest one???????
Or do i need to contact logitech and hope they will exchange mine for a wheel with the latest firmware.
All i really want is to be able to turn off the force feedback in GT5 (or have FF on 1 and be able to control wheel), as i prefer a loose steering wheel (don't ask why tho). I've turned it off in F1 2010 , F1 2011 and also Dirt 3 and i have no problems with the wheel at all, it's an AMAZING wheel and i'm glad i bought it, just wished it'd work for me properly in GT5 that's all.
Also, when my wheel calibrates in GT5 it stops about 15 degrees to the right yet when i quit back to the ps3's xmb it calibrates again and stops dead central.
Thanx
