If it was possible,I would have recorded gamers as the AI. For beginner settings you could have the guys who are near the bottom of the leaderboards. Semi-pro could be the guys in the top 5000. Pro could be the top 1 thousands players. And legendary would be the guys who have placed in the top 100.
If we could have the perfect racer it would have to be....
The online race options of Forza 2.
The warm up and qaulifying lap of Race PRO.
The graphics of GT5 or GRID.
The 1 player career mode of GRID.
The customization of Forza 3.
The damage of Colin Mcrae rally.
The car physics of SimBin.
The Arcade mode physics of PGR4.
And of course. The abilty to allow modders to create cars that weren't already in the game.
How will the single player mode let the game down? This has been the core of all previous Gran Turismos. This is what 99% of people who buy Gran Turismo look forward to most. The acquiring of licenses, the building up of your car collection.
Has there been any game released so far that so many have found flaws with before it's even launched?

The thing that killed Forza 3 was the career mode. A lengthy career mode is great, but when its the same style of racing time and time again it gets very old very quickly.
GT5 has the advantage with all the different styles of race events, but you have to consider what the race events are. NASCAR isn't most peoples cup o' char. Probably probably everyone in the world baring one American state probably finds it entertaining enough to watch to watch 500 laps, lets alone play them.
Rallying is great, but only if you know how to do it.
The driving tests will be still in there, so lets hope they get pretty creative with what the tests are.
My prediction is this though. GT5 will sell like Christ's botted ***** juice on day 1. Then when the people who enjoy games like NFS, GRID and other arcade action packed racers, these people will send the game back within the first week after realising the game takes its self too seriously.
Another thing that could put people off is the lack of customization and livery creation that people have become used to in there racing titles.

But thats the thing - it does take itself to seriously and thats what people love about it (the series at least, I've yet to play GT5).
I love playing the arcade style of burnout paradise, and I'll probably give NFS hot pursuit a go (loved the old NFS on the PC back in '98 or thereabouts).
I'm looking forward to spending hours getting my licenses again, trying to win races in a little MX5 or Yaris till I can afford something better. Going fo stage 1, 2 and 3 lightening and suspension mods.
This is what we love BUT and I will stress this, If it doesn't deliver I'm not going to be shouting its praises regardless.

GT 5 is going to sell close to 14 million within 3 years of release.
The forums will be flooded with complaints about how the handling "sucks" because you can't drift at 200mph or brake 5 meters before the corner.
It will be the biggest advance in racing simulation seen on any console for a generation.
It will be the PS3's biggest selling game for it's lifespan (save GT6).
It will divide opinion, it will be brilliant, it will be flawed, and it will be yet another step in a project that started on the PS1 and has continued through the PS2 and PS3 and shows no signs of stopping; that is to build the most complete and fully featured console racing simulation. In that sense alone it is already a success.

Sorry to jump to conclusions like this but Brakko you are a idiot, you've come on here saying the single player will be a let down ,the physics are not right, the AI are all over place and you haven't even got the game.
Could I borrow your crystal ball when your finished, tw@

I've been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt for quite a while now, but seriously - why are you on this forum ?
You do nothing but make negative comments on everything PS3 related, and keep dropping comments about how much you miss your 360....reminds me of a jilted lover yearning for their ex !
What is your agenda Brako ?

When did I ever say the physics were bad?
The only thing I mentioned was about the different track types. I never slated it, I just said that having mixed tracks physics is difficult to get done. This is why most racing titles stick to one particular style of racing, so that they can get the feel of the game just right.
When did I slate GT5? If anything I bought the PS3 purely for this game, but I refuse to fall into the hype trap that so many are giving the game. You say I can't judge the game because its not even been released yet. So how on earth do you all know if its going to be the best racing game ever?
I'm the one looking at all sides of what could happen, where as the rest of you are detemined its going to be the best thing since Christ on a mixing deck.
Silly, silly, moo-cows.
