Kazunori once said that there are about 32,000 car models in the world.

(Personally, I think there are more, but who's counting...) 

 

GT5 has more than 1 out of 32 of them.

 

That leaves you lots to time to grow with GT as more cars are added, over time.

you havn't looked far then as the 106 is in the game along with sevral versions of it

Over 1000 cars are not good enough for you.

 

Simple answer :-

 

A Time

B Liscensing

 

Some cars are "exclusives" to aoftware companies.

Certain Iconic cars will need Liscensing from Brand names (that may no longer exist) as well as if the drivers are named  and say they are no longer with us then their family may not like theri name being used in a computer game, so permission must be sought etc etc.

Its not just plain sailing to see a car and think i'll stick that in Gran Turismo. Its not that easy.
