It is so easy to loose time on the Ice Ring, half a second can be lost in the first straight.

BTW I found second gear better of the line, and just wait for the wheelspin to stop.

While we are on the subject of rules....

For the current Alfa Romeo event, the top time shown in the next picture includes an unfortunate nudge into the barrier on the second hairpin where I just outbraked myself (annoying as I had cleared the rest of the lap cleanly)

If this is not allowed please take the second time of 2'15.419 for the moment.

while your honesty is fantastic, i would say if the computer let you off with a little nudge on the wall, then its a clean lap.  hence a reason as top why i chose the licenses, it does make it the same rules for everyone, too much contact, lose the lap.

as for the ice ring, yes i figured a 2nd gear start was for the win too.  its a different story with the next one tho, the celica '84 just hasnt the grunt to do a 2nd gear start, but i'll try it out when i get the rig out tomorrow.

as for my time this week, its gunna have to be a pad lap to make sure i put in a time, sickness and work this week have kept me off the ps3, and its really annoyed me not keeping up with my own competition.  hopefully a return to form for the Canyon!

and thanks for a wide shot.  it was only after posting the updated rules that i saw the trophy in your original shot, so it must have come from a license test.

im annoyed that i havent got a time in but i'll be back for round 3.

which is 5000 miles away from round 2, in the beautiful grand canyon, one of the wonders of the natural world.  however, a underpowered rally car is not what the doctor ordered....but we have to play with the cards we are dealt.

Aphexstwin, thanks for confirming the running rules, it certainly helps at the Grand Canyon where I'm struggling to find the nuances of grip and line. Currently running in the 1'42s, the Starion has very little torque down low, easy to bog down even in second. I will post an official time later. This forum design is useless for people on the PS3 browser, no 'new line' no emoticons... just pressed preview and it lost all I had typed.....grrrrrr
