Test Track: what's the point?

I bought the Test Track DLC expecting to find what is universally understood as a test track: a place where you can play around with your car & test different performance parameters: acceleration, braking, cornering, performance on different surfaces, driving around cones, etc. Instead I got a dumb drag strip in which you don't even need a wheel: you just press the acceleration button and the car drives itself in a straight line to the end while you watch. It would be much simpler to have the game calculate this data and provide it to you, as it is done in Forza 4.

If this was offered for free, it would be just useless, as it doesn't give you anything you don't already know and doesn't reflect actual racing performance. Selling it as DLC, however, is outrageous and verging on dishonesty.

Re: Test Track: what's the point?

The description of the Test Track explains exactly what you get for your money.

It describes the track as "a massive oval."

It also says "The testing includes acceleration and top speed tests, making it possible to measure the acceleration time, section time, top speed, and a variety of stats for your cars."

I can't see how you could think that you'd be able to test other performance characteristics.

Re: Test Track: what's the point?

OK, I must take that back. I thought "Speed Test" was all there was, I didn't realize the track also appears in the track list as something you can actually use in an interesting way. My fault, I apologize to all.
