The Green Hell: ps.com GT4 Official Ranking Board.

Howdy Boys and Gals. :wave:

This thread has been set up for one very important reason. To see who is truly the fastest ps.com GT4 racer. Most of us are guilty of making claims of "greatness" and many do back it up with evidence. At the same time though, these feats will always fade from memory, as the topic does. Hopefully this can be the thread that everyone and anyone can look to at anytime to guage the "GT forum's speed". So anyway........

Race Location
All times must be performed at the following location;

GT-Mode, Licence Center/ Special Licence Hall, Licence Test S16, Nurburgring/AMG190 E 2.5- 16 Evolution II Touring Car/No Mods able to be performed

Eligibility:
To be eligible to post a time in this thread, u must meet the following requirements;

  • You must have at least 30 posts to your name in order to be classed as a ps.com GT4 forum regular.
  • You must be Human. Alien Races have abilities that would be deemed an unfair advantage to most gifted GT4 players. No Aliens!
  • Your time must be acquired from a copy of GT4.

Requirements for a time to be accepted:
For your time to be accepted you must meet these simple requirements;

  • The time must be performed in the S16 licence. No times will be accepted that are not performed in the S16 licence.
  • Any time performed by an eligible forum member must be proven by a minimum of a single photo. This photo must contain a screen-shot of the total time (TT), in either the post race screen or the Replay Theater.
  • For any TT's below 7'00.000, sector times must be displayed on top of the TT screenshot
  • For any TT's below 6'50.000, screenshots of every sector times must be displayed on top of the TT screenshot, with the speedo and tacho in perfect view for every sector time.
  • If you don't like these simple, relaxed rules, well, yo momma :smileywink:

Posting pictures
Here is how I'd reccommend a picture be posted

  • Please post any picture-proof in the form of a thumbnail or a direct link.
  • The only way to get a photo onto the net is to have it hosted. Some good photo-hosting sites include www.imageshack.us and www.photobucket.com
  • Alternatively, post a screenshot as your avarter image, and we will all squint at it :smileywink: That was a joke dumbarse

Ranking Updates and Posting Etiquette

  • All updates will be performed by me, unless I die.
  • I will try to post the latest updates near the top of every new page, so no-one gets confused as to what is the latest update- it will always be at the top of the final page.
  • Please try to refrain from having full-blown conversations in this thread. Its rude and makes it hard to track peoples progress, esspecially new progress- I wanna fv

    Anyway, get to it!

Re: The Green Hell: ps.com GT4 Official Ranking Board.

Great! I'm gonna post my time after weekends.
PS: (Off-topic but...) Is 5'35.624 at time trial (Arcade) with minolta +20% power -10% weight any good? Inability to make a softer suspension makes it jumping all over the place:Lol:

Another PS: @Red: Red, as you went away from GT (for a while I hope:smileyvery-happy:) why dont you join our newly formed Ps.com LFS driving team. I just want to see how you break all of the records there too :smileyvery-happy:

Its a pretty normal time TBH. Snake's got a 4'55ish and Ive done a 4'59.429 using those exact settings. Vudas got a video of himself doing a 5minute lap with his wheel. Check out his site and you'll see.

Back to topic. Ive still got memory cards and I know I've got tons of my licence replays on there. I may just have an S16 on there to show. Just gotta buzz over to friends place for a use of his PS2 at some stage. Can't be bothered now though- got things to do :smileyhappy:

Red, LFS is a PC racing sim, there's close races online which I like a lot, riminds me of BTCC.

Check out the Pit Stop and you'll see posts about it, come and join us if you want.

Re: The Green Hell: ps.com GT4 Official Ranking Board.

The only problem with it being at the 'Ring is that the laps are so long it will discourage people from setting decent laps. I don't really have the time to get any good laps in! The one i just tried was going really well until i slid off onto the grass ever so slightly and had to restart. Very frustrating, and will put a lot of people of i'd imagine. EDIT: Infact, i'm not as up for it as i said i was anymore. I don't have enough free time. Is there no way we can determine fast laps on another license test for those of us who have lives? I'm not going to be able to set a good lap time for fear of running off the track. 7'16.194 was my quickest so far for fear of running off :smileysad:

moglet, this is why it's a good chance to see who's the best.. if you're really a good driver, you're driving lines would be perfect, and you wouldn't be fear of driving off.. i personally have fear of it, but i'm not the fastest guy in the world, and i didn't really had a driving experience in my life so i can't really have the right feeling of a car.. just keep trying!:Thumbs:

I'm scared of the Nurb, think my best time round it was 7'30 odd in the Spirra.

But if the aim is to set a fast lap, surely that involves pushing the car a bit too hard sometimes? Even professional racing drivers do that!

I just don't have the time to keep making mistakes in order to get a good laptime on this track. Any other track and it wouldn't be a problem, it's just the Nurburgring is so damn long...
