Hopefully this request will resonate with those who appreciate the history of racing. My request is for 60's style grand prix race cars (sans wings). Those cars are mechanically beautiful and represent a significant turning point in the attitude of racing (re: Jackie Stewart and safety). These style cars will present a completely different class for organized competition and the Photomode inclined would be genuinely blessed.

Nice suggestion dude...the era of real racing though i never liked the first wings towering above the cars..

Maybe just have the cars 52-69...nearest thing i have seen to that is one of the DLCs for NFS Shift 2 which has 50s & 60s cars in it and the tracks are of that era too with bales of hay for barriers and i know Gran Turismo could do it so much better..

If they ever did then Jim Clark's Lotus 6 will do me...:smileyhappy:

Re: The Suggestions Box

i would like to suggest grid starts (career and arcade apart from races where its necessary for rolling starts), option for tougher ai (arcade only) and a chioce for starting in the midfield or the back of the field (career and arcade). it would really make a race more interesting.

my second suggestion would be to involve rallying in to the game alot more. we've got all those rally cars and veriety of certain amount of track though it would be nice to have a rally track pack from previous GTs. there is only a few special events involving rally cars. it would be nice to have seasonal events or its own events to access any time.

Re: The Suggestions Box

practice mode free run - when i already have "red" lap time, i'd like to have some sort of indicator that would show my other mistakes (which would trigger "red" lap time) on that lap.

Suggestions (non-DLC):

  • ALL cars should be premium, and have premium interiors, premium lights, premium horns, premium wipers and premium graphics. Fact.
  • Delete some pointless versions of cars, such as Mazda RX-7s, Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi Lancer Evos, Nissan Skylines. We don't need 50 of each of these models, just a couple of the important ones will do.
  • Add dirt to cars. They're ALWAYS clean. Why? Sort it.
  • Some engine noises need revising. Infact, a lot do. Why not adapt these sounds from the REAL car?
  • Improve damage features. It's still a tad unrealistic. Add as realistic damage as possible, and apply it to EVERY car, not just a few.
  • Add the ability to create your own racing championship. You could add which cars are allowed, power/weight/pp/nationality/year limits, which tracks to add and how many laps, the difficulty of opponents, and so on. Perhaps you could even share these with online friends.
  • Many things need adding to course maker. Add a database of different types of section/corner to add (e.g. hairpin, s-bend, corkscrew, straight, bridge etc.) and edit the corner's camber, sharpness, length, road surface and so on, so you can construct the track yourself. Also add more locations.
  • Time and weather settings should be available on all tracks, not just a select few.
  • People who are inactive in online lobbies for more than 20 minutes should be automatically kicked out.
  • In lobby settings, add the ability to ban certain cars, not just power/performance point limits.
  • Add the ability to sell whatever car you want. Most cars in my garage, when I go to sell them, say 'This cannot be sold'. That's irritating.
  • Change the 'My garage' part. I think it should actually be a big showroom that you can walk around in and just go up to whichever car you want to change to. This'd be better than a list. You could also visit your friends' showrooms.
  • Add proper trading rooms. Get rid of the 1m cr. limit for cars you can trade, and actually make a room. You could select who you want to trade with on this list. If they say 'no', you can't ask again for 10 minutes. If 'yes', you put whatever car/paint/money/suit/helmet/ticket you offer into the middle, and they do the same. The trade only goes ahead when both sides agree. You can back out of these trading rooms if you want. This would put an end to scamming, and to the over 1,000,000 cr. trading limit.
  • B-Spec driver characteristics need revising. My Level 32 driver is still terrible.
  • You should be able to name your B-Spec drivers yourself, not just random names, the majority of which are impossible to pronounce.
  • Add races into either A/B Spec events or in Special Events. We need more.
  • Add the ability to drive away/fall off the track, rather than being stopped dead by nothing at all or a thin wire on rally stages. Just reset the car if it goes too far away from the track or drives off a cliff.
  • Add every single car in the game to the shuffle pot in shuffle races.
  • More wheels to GT Auto are needed.
  • With convertible cars, you should be able to choose in driving options whether you want the roof up or down.
  • Add the ability to supercharge many more cars. There's only currently a select few.
  • Extra tyres. Maybe make Racing Soft, Sports Hard, Comfort Medium etc. into groups, and you could buy tyre brands, so you could have a Pirelli Sports Soft, or Bridgstone Racing Hard and so on.
  • Maybe add a free drive location or two, where you just drive your car as in real life, with added traffic, speed limits and so on. There could be a city, motorway, country road etc. This could just be another mode selectable on the main screen in GT Mode - like Speed Test is - so it's out of the way for people who don't want to use it.
  • Improve the online servers. They are, in search of a better word, terrible. I lose connection to them every 5 seconds, and it's not my internet connection or PSN connection, I've checked many times before.
  • We should have the ability to take the car for a test drive before buying it. Just a free run on a track of your choice.
  • Make us able to racing modify many more cars than we can at the moment.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Forget cars, they're not going to make game play any better. What we need are propper multiplayer events.

Just like A-Spec or B-Spec events (with appropriate restrictions) but playing against real people instead of AI. The open lounge is OK but there is too much messing around and trying to find good races to match the cars you have.

Propper organised races like the A-Spec is the way to go. Just like there used to be in prologue.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Oh and the option of a Full HDD install for those of us with 320GB models or at least release the whole game on PSN.

Re: The Suggestions Box

I think GT5 is a brilliant game, definitely one of my favourites, but there is one major problem letting it down for me, the engine sounds. Lets take the Lamborghini Aventador for example, whilst in cockpit view all I can here is a sort of high pitch whine. If you listen really closely there is a very faint noise that is similar to that of the Aventador but it is far too quiet and quite simply does not sound good enough. This is the same for most cars on the game, I find that 95% of the cars sound like vacuum cleaners, especially when in cockpit view. If the camera it set to 3rd person mode the cars sound slightly better but still no where near good enough. Why is it that a 3.2L V6 Alfa Romeo Brera Sounds more like a 5.5L Supercharged V8 Mercedes SLR Mclaren than the SLR does?! This MUST be fixed, it is a problem that just lets the whole game down.

Re: The Suggestions Box

got a few suggestions

cars in one garage so i can see what cars i have when you have about 1000 motors.

its hard to see what car is what when in open lobby.

option for multiple wash and oil changes.

being able to tune your car in settings rather than having to go to the tune up shop as some options are missing from the settings when buying stuff to do it up. if your in open lobby then you can just tune your car in settings rather than having to go back out into the tune shop to do the lightweight and engine upgrade.

i dont see how hard tyres last the same as medium racing.

is it just me but didnt gt used to show the brake discs glowing when you braked i dont see this anymore.

being able to see what your car looks like before painting it like a preview option would be nice.

Re: The Suggestions Box

its a bit shady that they didnt include the test track to test your cars. i wouldnt pay the extra for it. maybe a drag course for people so you dont have to drag down a straight on a course some drag races would be cool. also something crazy like driving down a road on a hill to jump over a canyon lol.
