Re: The Suggestions Box

What game was it that had really reallistic 'damaged' engine sounds in it? It was an old one, perhaps on PSX, but when you crashed one too many times or too hard the engine started knocking and creaking like a rusty bike chain, and the revs kept spluttering. Unfortunately the visuals didn't match the audio accuracy, as I recall. Darn, I can't remember which game it was now...maybe one of the old ToCa Touring Car series...?

But yeah, something like that would be fun...especially if when your engine finally blew it occasionally put large dents in the bonnet where the parts bashed it

Re: The Suggestions Box

Would be nice to see a hole in the bonnet when the 1200bhp motor threw a piston through the head.

Re: The Suggestions Box

This might sound a bit crazy, but how about the test track from Fiat Lingotto Factory?

Tune your car and then drive it out on the roof track for a test run.
Are these picture sizes ok Art?

Re: The Suggestions Box

I have actually, i went to the FIA meet at santa pod and talked with one of the drivers, The cars don't have gears they have a centrifugal clutch which releases the power gradually as the cargoes faster. The lights are also never random, they are always sumet like .125 from amber to green. btw whats so hard about pulling a lever?

Hi all new to the forum so please be gentle.
Now as a drag racer i feel qualified to comment on this, its only the top fuel cars that have lock up clutches, the rest of us mortals do change gear, and drag racing is in no way easy, there is so much invovled with tuning for weather, phsycology, strategic tactics and then add into that controlling a stupidly quick vehicle (they dont go straight just watch the tv coverage on five us on a monday night) whilst consistantly reacting within thousandths of a second. rant over.

onto drag racing in the game, I think it could be done very well, especially online it could echo the current trend in the tunning world of street and import racing. I could just see myself making a real powerfull street sleeper to challenge people online with, you could even have a pink slip mode where you keep the car your racing if you beat it. In my eyes the posibilities are endless but I supose I am biased.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Id also like to see track temp play a part in the game, track in the sun so more grip, track in the shade drift city!
Id also love to see Pikes Peak make a return with some nice cars to go with it (Audi quatro and Ari Vatanen's rothmans peugeot 405 T16)

A few less jap clones would be a good idea too i think.

Re: The Suggestions Box

I'd also like to see some real tuff offroad tracks, with mud and water crossings.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Sorry to keep going on about what I'd like to see in the next GT, it's not like sony come here for ideas or anything. But anyway, I'd like to see some real tire smoke and burnout marks, left in real time, some smoke like this would be cool

And I found some cool features in the up coming Project Gotham Racing 4 that I thought would be cool in GT
The weather effects aren't always as in-your-face as sliding around on ice. While zipping around the streets of Macau, for instance, we noticed a layer of fog hanging around the city; if you drive into the hills that surround the city, however, you drive up and out of the haze, as the fog sticks to the lower elevations in the city, much as it often does in real life. Weather will also be dynamic as you progress through a race, so fog can turn into rain or a thunderstorm, and spots where puddles build up can become slippery sheets of ice when the mercury dips below the freezing point.

Something else you should be able to do is turn your lights on and off as it gets dark, the New York track would have been better if you could turn on your lights as it gets a bit dark in some ares.
Along with the changing weather, changing between day and night would also be great thing to have.
