Meguiars target hot rodders with their House of Kolor product and primarily body shops. They have a presence at every hot rod show I've been to and their aim is generally for trade sales, not for private owner-use. Is there any benefit to be had by licencing your product to gamers?
As for tyres, well, I've always loved the idea of tyre variances, the ability to choose what level grip you like for each car. I hate unrealistic super-sticky rubber on cars - it spoils their true feel. I'd be happy to play Gran Turismo with nothing but N rubber all day long as I enjoy the feel of a car as close to real life as possible.
If Gran Turismo were to just have racing rubber, I'd stop playing it.

I think There is a big big advatage of using a computer game, to "advertise". Like we where talking about on the Gran Turismo Inspiration thread on pure Aero. Untill GT1 came out, I had no Idea what Ralli Art, Mugen, TRD, or any other thing like that was.
I loved the Castrol Supra in the GT games so much that the only oil that goes into my cars is Castrol. I also loved the Raybrig NSX so guess what lightbulbs are in the GT4 and the 86 lol.
I think Having the companies in a computer game works just the same as they do in real life. And I dont know how it works with PD but they might also get Money from these sponsor graphics and car parts. As for house of Kolor you are right it is mainly for trades. But yet I have brought Paints from House of Kolors website. And they are well known enough for people that want to say respray their car in PD to go and check out House of Kolor in the game. But this might be more a Livery editor discussion.
As for the tyres. Again would the companeys like there name in a game. Toyo are in NFS games. And it would be very nice to be able to choose tyres from different Tyre manufacturers. Just like you say Aero. I am more interested in the track day simulation rather than the full on race car simulation. So yeah would be very cool tochuck on a set of Toyo r888 and go to ring to see what you can do.
Oops am I ranting again lol.

Race day simulation is a must for me to mate .
Tbh if I owned a big company I would want it sponsored in Gt, the amount of sales this game gets is unreal its like a field day for sponsors if you get me.

I believe the cars in the game are payied for via in game advertising,
So I guess it would work much the same for any other companies that want to have their product in the game. I think having a company like House of Kolor would be good, makes it more real, though there wouldn't be much point having apaint company in the game, unless.... anyone...Thats right, unless you can change the colour of your car. I think it would be cool to keep it like GT4 and have a shop that you go to and choose your paint rather than just picking it at the home menu.
Something I've never thought of because it is not really that type of game, but what about an open world type menu? A mini menu city if you will, it could be online and you could meet up with other people and go racing from there.
Though I don't know how that would fit into my early idea of real time day and night.

Hey People,
I've had a very valid request for this topic to be stickied, and will so many responses I see no reason why not.
However, if we are going to sticky this - something useful needs to come of it. Can I suggest that one of you compiles all the information and suggestions posted here into one, lovely post? This will help me get your suggestions heard and will help others in noting those suggestions that have already been made
PM me if you decide to do this.

Did a quick search but not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but considering the events of the gt-academy (particularly with the whole written test thing on the first day) I think that it would be nice to have a scrolling list of corner names (probably situated at the bottom of the screen) to help us learn them. This could probably be done in a couple of ways:
-Either a vertical or horizontal scrolling list of names
-A feature showing the previous/current/next corners in a similar format (current corner is larger font or bold or the whole name changing thing could work like a carousel etc)
-All of the above could be user selectable by preference
IMO a feature like this would drastically help us to memorise corner names and also I think it could well be a first for such a feature as I have not come across something like it before. ![]()
