Re: The Suggestions Box

It might have been a concept based on an an American chassis.......? Ford Australia recently trademarked "G6" and "G8", which could point to a new luxury line when the new falcon comes out next year........ so the fairlane concept may not be dead, but the fairlane badge defently(sp?) is Oh man... G6 and G8. Pontiac called, they want their names back :-). I assume the trademarks must not carry internationally? And the Falcon....ooooooooooooh....I like that one too.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Sheesh, this thread has moved fast!

I have actually, i went to the FIA meet at santa pod and talked with one of the drivers, The cars don't have gears they have a centrifugal clutch which releases the power gradually as the cargoes faster. The lights are also never random, they are always sumet like .125 from amber to green. btw whats so hard about pulling a lever?

Curious, I wonder if there's a difference between British Drag and American Drag there then. I watch the American Drag tournaments every so often at my brother's house, and there they're always talking about missing gears and nailing gear changes. Do UK Drag cars run on automatic???

But yeah, in that case then Ben, I'll say the American Drag Championships, not the UK ones (although they HAVE to have Santa Pod in there if they do make a Drag mode!)

And as for the lights, they're allways the same, but they only start counting down once both cars have staged and are on the line, so reaction time is a massive variable. You'd have to hit it just right...sounds really exciting imo

Re: The Suggestions Box

This was the FIA Drag racing, i think it's the euro champs, btw i was talking about top fuels and funny cars, the more stock models probably use gearing.

I'm assuming they dont.....?

Just to clarify. They actually registered "Falcon R6", "Falcon G", and "Falcon G6". Just remembered that teh Fairlane range already had a "G8" before it departed. I really dont know what the go is with trademarks. Tis weird.

Re: The Suggestions Box

Trademarks are wierd things.... In Europe its not allowed to be a Dodge Viper...Because Viper is being used by something esle ...But it is allowed in the US... Id like to see a few more concepts...And bring back some cars from the older games. Stuff like the GT90 (GT2), that thing was soo had to control!
