The dumbing down of GT5

What happened to the weight and tyre restrictions on the seasonal challenges?were these removed to make it easier for the less skillfull or people who just plain couldn,t be bothered to take the time and effort to progress in the game,it used to be a fun and rewarding challenge now its just a case of choosing a car with 100bhp more horsepower than the rest of the grid and gassing them into the weeds on the first attempt, what was wrong with the way it was?

Re: The dumbing down of GT5

Very old news. This was done ages ago.

However, there is absolutely nothing preventing you from not picking a car that is leagues ahead of your opponents and not putting racing slicks on it. You can see what cars you'll be facing before you even enter the race. If you don't have the willpower to restrict yourself using that info, then that is a problem for you to solve, not the game.

Re: The dumbing down of GT5

i agree, it's lack of willpower that's the real issue, not the game.

It's the same with Forza 3 - the f'n rewind button as no matter how much i hate it and promise myself that I'm never gonna use it, i always do if i incur massive damage to the car or run waaaaaaaaaaaay off the track.

Not issues with the games, it's our lack of willpower that's the killer.

Re: The dumbing down of GT5

:smileyvery-happy: I used to have that problem with F1 2010 when I started playing it, 'I won't use replay' until I got punted off or spun round and then sure enough I did ! lol

Your complaining about the game being dumbed down, but in reality your dumbing yourself down. What's to stops you from choosing the same car class and PP as your opponents (which it tells you what they are :smileywink:) and keeping the game as enjoyable as possible fighting for the lead right up until the finish line?

PD aren't forcing you to use the X2010 you know. But I do wish they would put restrictions on so you know that your not the only one who hasn't cheated :smileysad:

Re: The dumbing down of GT5

At no point in my post did i say that i actually choose cars that are not comparable to the rest of the field ,my question was WHY was it done really simple, but as usual theres always a couple of people out there who add 2+2 and come up with 5,so again for all the people that can read and aren,t out looking for a lyrical wrestling match"WHY"

Um you basically said it right there.

You gave us the information, you made the topic its up to you to make it as detailed as possible. Stop getting all personal where only trying to help you from the information you gave us.

I dont know the answer but it shouldn't matter when like we said if you pick the same car and keep it even.
