Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

I think they should've kept the updates coming for GT5 Prologue for as long as it takes to make the finished full GT5.

New cars, maybe even a new tracks would've been cool to play in GT5p while waiting the full version.

More good news from the bungling bufoons at Sony!!

Yesterday Sony held a conference discussing their sales results for the Q3 of 09 and what not but when asked about how their Q4 software forecast for 2010 met with internal targets they had previously set. Their answer went like this:

"In fourth quarter we are seeing an underachievement of the target by ¥20b. One reason is the delay in the launch of Gran Turismo [5]. We were originally scheduled to launch Gran Turismo [5] this year but it looks more likely that it will be after 2010 so that’ll be a significant factor."

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/02/...ference-calls/

So it looks like GT5 won't be out until 2011 or 2012 or maybe just maybe early 2013 lol.

Edit: A little more reading gives this just to balance the above info:

'Wonder if Kaz was listening in to the call.  Yes, they did say “after 2010″.  Whether that was a slight mistranslation by the translator and Sony simply meant in 2010 or after the start of 2010 I have no idea.  I listened to that part of the call several times to try and determine which was meant and it was not clear.  If, and it is a big if, Sony really did mean “after 2010″ then given the context that would mean after their 2010 financial year which ends in March 2011.  A delay that long does not bear thinking about for us race fans or Sony.'

This is getting ridiculous now. Not the delay if it's necessary but the way the release of this type of info is being handled. So many mix messages from people in reasonably senior positions. They all need to sit down, talk, work out when they would ideally like to release and tell us. I don't want an actual day just a timescale.

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

I know this sounds a little strange... but when I bought my PS3 Slim I chose it over the 360 because I heard that GT5 will be comming out soon. I saw trailers and played the Prologue on a friends ps3 and got excited. Slowly the excitement gone down, and now with Slimboys post it went so down that I might consider a post by an IGN user saying that he will sell his PS3 and go with the xbox and *****ing play a racing game (forza 3).

This is unacceptable...***** are they thinking? It's three years since the PS3 was launched..and now we have the slim version of it, and it still hasn't got a GT game. At this rate I think forza 4 will be out before GT5. What the f are they waiting for? I was looking forward for 3 major games this year GOW3, Heavy Rain and GT5 but I see the last one won't be out this year..again.

Job well done Sony...I hope for the sake of your costumers you will release the game....this decade

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

if it 2011 that's just too late. It won't affect the sales of the game I doubt, but it's just getting ridiculous. Year on year it's the same story where we seem to be getting close to a release, and then it disappears off into the horizon again for another year.

This game has had one of the worse releases I can ever remember, and still our only source of information is dodgey translations, some of which I suspect is "leaked" officially from Sony and PD so it's not always them relaying the bad news. Why can't they just be honest?. Give us a release date (even if it is March 2011) and just stick to it. I find the lack of concrete information more annoying that the seemingly never-ending development cycle this game has had.

Because those guys probably set a date, and worked to meet it. The fact that PD never give a set release date means KY can fly round the planet playing Racing Drivers till the cows come home. And gullible fans will continue to reason that 'there have been no dates therefore there have been no delays...' Until we all die.

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

This is actually quite funny now.

I check in here every so often just to see what delay excuses we have now, I'm sure everyone is frustrated but by the time they release gt5, I might actually be too old for playing it.

I wonder how their marketing department justifies such poor performance targets?

I wonder how many people are just fed up with sony and the PS3?

I rarely play the ps now, purely because I'm just interested in playing GT on the ps but Sony's fanbase will undoubtedly become gradually disenchanted.

Maybe Sony/PD need to face the same consequences many other business are facing during this financial period and suffer administratiion, I'm sure they're no where near close to this but possibly another developer would have more success.

Maybe they should open source the game?

Many GT fans are so old that we wonder if we'll still be alive for the next-gen versions, but when it does arrive, we'll be squealing like a teenager. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

Sony/PD would rather pull there nails out with a pliers than open source a game

I'm afraid we all just have the pay, GT5 will be a big fat cash cow, whenever it arrives.

Disenchanted! more like hanging by a string.
