The more likely release date for GT5.

Within the last week Shopto.net has shifted the release date of GT5 back from it's March placeholder to June 25th.

Usually when Shopto push dates back they have been given some sort of official word from their suppliers, and they certainly don't move their dates back on a hunch.

This is almost certainly the release date though as it makes the most sense and ties with what I've known for quite some time. Maybe the people who keep insisting this game is out in March for the UK will finally accept what has been obvious for a while. Japan will get it first, several months ahead of us as is customary.

Amazon has also changed release date status back to "Not Yet Published". :smileysad:

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

Why the sad face?

Isn't it better to tell the truth (Wait! GT5 is not published yet, is it? Whew...) then lie by giving false hope with a date that means nothing?

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

When I picked up Darksiders a few hours ago in a local GameStop here in Denmark, I noticed that they had GT5 listed for June (no specific date and I didn't ask) as well.
But I imagine they are all still just guessing at this time.

It will be here when its here....

At least we know that it's due for March 2010 in Japan. We also have a box art now.

Remember, we are closer to the release more than we ever have been before :smileywink: hehe

Just you wait, there'll be an announcement.... "Kaz has been kidnapped by little green men, GT5 isnt coming out til 2011...... maybe" :smileytongue:

Seriously though, I dont think we will have to wait much longer than June.  Only 6 months to go if it is June... in comparison to how long we've already waited, thats nothing at all! :smileyhappy:

Re: The more likely release date for GT5.

Good things come to those who wait but with all the preview videos, pics and information, it's getting harder and harder to wait. Hopefully June is finally the actual release date in EU and other areas. My summer holiday will be in July so I guess I already know what I'm going to do during it :smileywink:

It will be June, the question is really whether or not I bother importing a copy 3 months earlier.

Yeah, I'm tempted to do that.  But I dont think I will, I'm sure I'll get a much better GT5 experience if I wait, until the EU release.

Just from my memories of starting out on GT4 for the first time and being completely amazed by it, even using a controller.  If I can recapture that sort of experience with a bigger, more diverse and much richer version of GT and a nice steering wheel, then I want to have the proper game, in English.

I guess its not really a biggy, as the point of the game is the racing after all, but I know its something that would niggle me and I see no point in wasting my pennies on buying 2 copies of the same game, of which one of em I cant read. :Stupid:

On the downside, I'm probably gonna have to live like a hermit for 3 months, to avoid spoiling the surprise
