with photos displaying a dec'09 release, shopto saying sept'09, the japanese versions' delay (which must surely filter down to us outside of the land of the rising sun), i seriously wonder how many sales sony and pd have lost to the green side. all the games sites that are multiplatform have users that are now saying 'now forza 3 is out its the second coming/if gt5 is delayed thats fine ive got forza 3 and its the best physics/framerate/ai in a racing game'. whether this is true, about the physics etc, i have major doubts, i dont call it borza for nothing, and whether its true, about the fans deserting the franchise that hasnt delivered in 6 years, remains to be seen

I'd say its more annoying than worrying.
If GT5 is being held back due to pure marketing reasons. Then perhaps cast an eye brow over this.
If I am correct the USA Fiscall Year end is September (someone correct me and blow my theory completely outta the water) and Japans Fiscal Year is March 31st So perhaps, and a big perhaps the release for both Markets ( the US and JP forget about the Eu.... Sony do that anyway) Will be after their Fiscal Year ends.
So Japan would be April 2010
America Would be October 2010
The Eu territories would be well hmmm Hopefully somewhen before 2011 but one cannot say for sure how far Sony are willing to stiff us this time......
(sorry just getting fed up with the lame responses on delaying games).
There was a time when games were designed, programmed, marketed and released by Hardcore Gamers... Now look at it!!!
Anyway trying not to stray to far off on another tangent, just to say that I am not a business Analyst but perhaps its to do with Sonys Fiscal year end in each territory to the point as being the delay for the release of GT5. Its probaly wide of the mark but its worth considering?
i'll Grab my coat.
Hentis

Some worrying news from over at GT Planet:
GT5 will be released in Autumn says James Armstrong, CEO of SCE for Spain and Portugal in a recent interview in a local newspaper.

There wasn't an official announcement for Japan either, just as there isn't one with this rumour.
Just some SONY guy spouting off something to a reporter. He's blown smoke before, too.
After SONY gives us a real announcement, backed up by a press release, then you can say we got a date.

Well there was an official announcement regarding the delay that is occurring in Japan (this has now been removed from the official site so I can't link it), and if you don't call the creator of the game confirming a March release in Japan I don't know who we're meant to believe. Don't you think that should have been reliable enough to believe? If the guy in charge of the game doesn't know the release date then how can anyone else be expected to?

Tbh I'm getting annoyed with PS and polyphony.
Stop being ***** about the game which could of been launched 2 years ago because if ever emerging improvements.
One of the last push backs was so they could implement damage. This push back is so they can make a 3D version of the game and launch them both on the same day.
Who in their right mind will be buying a 3D TV in the next year. They will be over priced and small sized. Anyway a little off topic sorry.
At this rate they will not launch a version for the PS3 as they will go "oh the PS4 is coming lets convert it to run on that".
Just give us the DAM game
