The world's slickest driving game for PlayStation 3 to hit stores this November as a Standard Edition, a fully-loaded Collector's Edition and a luxury, accessory-packed Signature Edition.
Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have announced three different editions of the forthcoming Gran Turismo® 5 for PlayStation®3, offering racing fans more options than ever for immersing themselves in the drive of a lifetime. The eagerly-awaited game is scheduled to arrive this November, and here's what to look out for on the starting grid.
More than a thousand cars, a global community of racers, the world's most iconic racetracks and the drive of a lifetime - that's Gran Turismo 5.
Experience astounding realism, pulse-raising physics, high-speed thrills and a full tank of international motoring glamour as you race against friends at home or online against champions from around the world, and build yourself a stable of the finest cars ever to have graced the tarmac anywhere.
One of the world's best-selling driving games is back, packed with new features, new rides and new experiences that'll take your life into the fast lane like never before.
A highly-desirable upgrade for serious racers and motoring fans, this eye-catching edition comes with plenty of added horsepower inside its high-end collector's box. As well as the game itself, you'll get:
Reminiscent of a no-expense-spared supercar launch, this luxury edition puts the pedal to the metal as soon as you open its contoured steel case, which is finished in Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Obsidian Black. As well as the game, the Apex driver's magazine and the ChromeLine car pack, you'll get:
If that doesn't whet your appetite enough, an additional six in-game ‘Stealth’ cars will be made available, which include:
Further details on how you can redeem these additional in-game cars to add to your GT5 vehicle collection will be confirmed at a later date, so watch this space Australia!
Gran Turismo 5 is yet to be classified by the Australian Classification Board.
I have the Signature edition pre ordered. What edition will everyone else here be picking up in November
Assuming we actually get the Signature Edition here, as soon as Mighty Ape start listing it, I will pre-order it... depending on price
Mind you... Modern Warfare 2 and God of War 3 uber editions sold for $299 here, and even though I didn't order those versions (good job too, for two games I've only completed once each)... for GT5 I definately would pay that much... :)
According to the GT site it is available in NZ the pics of everything look very slick and very well made (pretty hard to expect anything less from polyphony) I'm expecting a price of ~$250 although hopefully as a way of apology for such a wait it's a bit cheaper :smileytongue:
im stil waiting for EB games to put up all the editions on their site...there still only listing the standard edition...
id like to pre-order the 3rd edition if it does indeed come here to Australia..lol
finally there up on the EB site..lol
the collectors edition $130
the signature edition $300
does anyone else think the signature edition is alittle steep in price??
hahaha yeh..id sure buy it in a heartbeat if knew id win it..lol
hmm i was wondering about the dyamic theme as well...
maybe the Signature edition gets everything what the collectors edition gets plus the extra...well i hope so its like that..
Oh wow... $350 for the Signature Edition... :O , and $150 for the Collectors Edition..
I will likely pick up the Collector's Edition from EB. Have store credit there, so I might as well use it.
I bet Lion-Face will get all 3... ;)
How did you know! So far only pre-ordered the SE from mighty ape to secure it, the CE and standard editions I'll be picking up through work, just not yet available through our system yet...
Well, I have the english and asia versions of FFXIII, and was tempted to pick up the 360 version on the Mighty Ape daily deal today.. :P
why are you getting all 3?
I really really really like Gran Turismo :)
That's pretty much it. the CE comes with Art Cards that the SE doesn't come with, and I want a copy for in my house, in my garage, and also my work for those quiet times :D. I may not get the standard edition straight away, but do plan on owning all 3. To put it in context a bit, I pre-ordered 2 copies of GTPSP to get all the collector cars (which ended up being dlc later on anyway lol) and ended up with 3 copies (including the download version that came with PSPGo)
Its Gran Turismo! it only happens once every few years and its the only game I'll be buying between now and Killzone 3.
In better financial circumstances I'd get the signiture edition, but I couldn't part with $300 over one game that I'm only barely interested in anymore.
But I do agree that this is a real collector's edition (the signiture that is), made even more special by the fact this will most likely be the only Gran Turismo on the PS3 unless there's a custom car spin-off running on the same engine. GT5 has been on the boil for what? 5 years now? GT6, the fully-fledged sequel, will probably have to be built from the ground up again on next-gen technology.
