I have been on and off GT5 now since release, and do not really seem to have made much progress. I seem to be getting some where but seem to no if that makes sense.
I was wondering what is your drive to just keep playing this game. Why every time you load you beautiful PS3 up do you play GT5 and not something else.
Let me state im not a hater of GT5 I love the game, I love how great it is, the way the game looks, the endless racing etc.
I have a list of games to play and complete, I just need some help getting the spark back in GT5 for me.

I only use my PS3 for two things, 1) Gran Turismo and 2) watching movies. Mainly playing GT5 though.
I "completed" the game last year and since then I have been either taking part in the seasonal events or racing online in private lobbies, and it's the latter that takes up most of my time.
At the moment, only death will stop me from taking part in Gran Turismo

I stopped playing it after doing it to the death late last year sometime, as there is only so many old games you can play when you've completed most of the game. But with it being the only sim game (apart from Ferrari Challenge but that hasn't aged very well now
) and the only really decent driving game on the PS3, I've recently gone back to catch up with the seasonal events and have a blast online.
I've debated on the DLC which I can't say I'm a really big fan of (especially an old game like GT5 which I stopped playing) but I've gone and bough it all this morning as there is some tasty cars I want to drive.
I like having more fun on GT5 then treating it serious now, even just having crazy times on Top Gear Test Track online
I enjoyed a few Shuffle Races as well so I'm going to carry on doing those in my spare time.
But yeah, GT5 has no other competition and nothing comes close to the thrill it gives me having been a fan of these type of games right from the beginning.

Yeah I agree with the above. I love the game and the DLC Content has been rather tasty. I am still yet to buy the new Lambo. Maybe im just being to picky with a already great game. Just wish for a little more. It is a pretty special game. The cars you car drive, from Karting to Nascarr and everything in between, makes it a prefect driving game. I love it really, but wish to get inspired to play more. I have so many events to finish.
As for compertion I think your right, there are not many great racing games on the PS3.
I think my Favs are
Midnight Club
NFS Hot Pursuit
F1 2011
Even these do not really offer the experenice that GT5 does.

I know how you feel. My GT5 disk is practically welded into the PS3 hasn't been out of there for at least six months.
I keep setting myself challenges I'm currently working though every car doing time trials on Trial mountain, Top Gear track and Spa to rank them using an aggregate time.
I also want to get at least one race victory with every car just for the hell of it!! Not too sure how I'll manage this with the fiat 500's and the 2CV ![]()
Also keep trying to do the few remaining challenges I haven't done.
I'll probably have to check out SFS some time as my racing buddies are slowly defecting to cannon fodder 3 or whatever it's called
not my thing getting shot!.

I just keep practising and testing out cars I am willing to know more about
Getting licenses on Gold eventually, playing seasonal races, racing online with friends and comparing lap times with FM4 too, and cars itself.
I just hope there will be more seasonals which make more use out of different cars, shame they took away some races I liked the most.
GT5 still is the main game I do play with PS3, other games I want to play, I play with Xbox360 because most of my friends has Xbox instead of PS3.
Hoping that GT6 would appear on PS3 before we are forced to buy PS4 for sequel, mainly because PD would have to start whole thing from ground zero, again (and so far there has been 2 GT's / generation, unless counting Prologue's)
