Just over a week ago I posted a thread titled "Australian GT Academy" and asked, as an Aussie, how am I supposed to get the cars to compete since the previous round was officially barred to me.
Well all I can say is thanks to those forum members who helped and *where are the moderators* who are supposed read this stuff and send it on to the "powers that be"?
Not one official reply. Zip. Nil. SFA! And of course the event is finnished and we are on to the next.
Just another example of how being an Aussie gets your face rubbed in it everytime!

I can ensure you that just because we're not posting, does not mean we're not watching.

Also that does not mean we are not passing information on. If we are able to provide a resolution we will do so in a timely manner. However, some issues are out of our control; and we do the best we can in those situations. ![]()

Hey TT_92
There has already been a discussion regarding the GT academy being open to Australian residents:
http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Gran-Turism
As mentioned by our moderator Pretoria, in the thread I have linked to, the matter was escalated internally and with Polyphony .

Than you guys for replying. For the record I did see the thread and did follow the discussion but what I posted about is a different issue altogether.
The linked thread was discussing how GT Academy was *NOT* available in Australia. My post was on, now that GT Academy *IS* available in Australia *HOW* do we get the cars to compete in it *IF* we had not already cheated and used a non-Australian account to download the original GT Academy.
So my original question still stands. "Now that Australians can have the GT Academy rounds how do we get the cars to compete?
Each round lasts for 1 week. We are now at the end of the second race/week and there is still no way for me to obtain the cars to compete (besides borrowing from a friend that cheated originally).
My criticism still stands "What Tech Support?". We are about to start round 3, how do I get the cars to compete? Before I am advised that I don't have a problem and it's under control what about the fact that I was lucky to find a friend's one to borrow and I can't use it *IF* he is using it. Also, I do not have the option to modify them either. I can't perform weight reduction, stiffening or engine mods.
So please pass on to Sony/PD that Aussies are being screwed again. We pay the most for downloads and are always the last to get anything :-( This latest, half-hearted fiasco is just one example. We could start a whole thread on other examples BUT this would be pointless, let's just try an resolve this one issue at a time.
Cheers TT

This is the whole crux of the problem.

You missed GT Academy. It is as simple as that.
They added the GTA 12 download to the Aus/NZ PSN Store, and you would have had to download it, and complete the events there to win the cars.
You did not do that, GTA 12 is now closed, so you can not get the cars for yourself. You will have to borrow them elsewhere.

FYI:

As I haven't seen it announced anywhere, I did another search for GT Academy on the PSStore today, and it allowed me to download it via my NZ PSN account. I wasn't going to bother as I didn't want to make a fake account for a 1 off download. I had tried it a couple of weeks back, and while the NZ store finds it via a search, it told me my region wasn't allowed the item, so I tried out of the blue again today and it downloaded just fine.
Posted 4th June, which if I recall was about 4 weeks before the event closed.

Timmy pretty much hit the nail on the head. You missed out plain and simple. GTA 12 was in the OZ/ NZ store for over a month before it closed. It was listed under Gran Turismo so it wasnt hidden by any strech. Even better, Lion being the good sort that he is gave instructions on how to find it.
Better luck next year..

It's like this Flash, this thread is on the lack of technical support and your comments here only go prove my point.
So after many, many Aussies post all over the net that they want to be in GTA why is only now that it has come to light that it was "apparently" available? Why wasn't it listed here as a news item or announced on news when the game loads? Why were the 2 mods that replied to me unaware of this as well? Or chose not to tell me about it?
Your post actually triggers more questions than it answers and only backs up my comments about Aussies being screwed over *again* and the lack of tech support we get :-(
Finally, it has nothing to do with "luck" it is called having better communication and supporting your customer base.
