Re: What would you like to see in Gran Turismo 5 (the real thing)

you know how in GT5 Prologue it tells you the weather and temperature at tracks around the world, well i think it would be cool to continue that information into courses on the game, so if its raining Laguna Seca (in real life) for example, it rains on the game aswell. The temperature at track is continued on to the game affecting the track temperature. all that.

Re: What would you like to see in Gran Turismo 5 (the real thing)

Something I've always wanted to see but probably won't be seen in any game for a few years yet (and when it does see the light of day it'll probably be as a user-made mod for a PC game) is gearboxes and shift styles matching cars real life tendencies.

Not just a case of you buy a car then before each race choose Auto or Manual gears. You buy the car, and when buying you choose if you want it with an Auto or Manual, and the availability of these options differs based on what's actually available for that car in real life. If you choose the Auto, then it isn't just a Manual that magically changes gears by itself, but the actual Auto from that car with the correct number of gears, ratios, and shift patterns and behaviour. If you buy a Diesel hatchback with a 4-speed auto that is hesitant to shift when at half-throttle, that's how it should be.

Also stops n00bs from driving a real man's car that's only available with a manual shift. I say this as someone who in real life only has an Automatic driver's licence (but learned to drive manual on a G25 :smileyvery-happy: ).

Re: What would you like to see in Gran Turismo 5 (the real thing)

lol Saiun. I'm pretty sure you can tell the AA (over here in NZ) that you've got your S Class license in GT and they give you your Full NZ license, its a great system.

I'd like to see more focus on fuel and tyre conditions as King Nothing posted earlier.

I loved the added ability to mix up your stints. Go that extra lap and almost run the car dry just to get that added advantage over the comp. Taking less fuel to get out of the pits earlier, lighter fuel load.

First lap, first corner cold tyres its going to handle different. F1 CE has a pretty good tyre condition model from memory.

Just more things to think about, and making it more of a racing sim.

This would be a really cool features, of course it would have to be an option you could select so when you're choosing weather there's something like "real life track conditions" as an option.

Like others on here I would also like to see fuel and tyre considerations feature more heavily. Also I vaguely remember GT4 giving you the option to run qualifying in order to improve your default grid position but I'd like to see it feature more heavily in GT5 with maybe the option to turn it on as a default.

As far as events go I'd like to see a more logical progression of events with your rewards increasing in correct proportion to the stage of your driving career. The past games have always been about finding some event to milk then getting all the best cars and dominating. I know it's my choice how I want to play it but when your not getting adequately rewarded for more difficult races it's hard to force yourself to play them over and over...

Completely different type of game, but Tiger Woods 10 does the exact same thing. Live Weather Feed.

I thought it was a great addition to the game and made for a more random experience, it even changed the physics of the ball.

Depending on the size of the track and weather condition at the time, but something like small showers raining on one end of the track and the rest dry/drying out from the rain would be pretty cool. "Do I change to wet tyres or chance it with my slicks?"

Yeah those are the sorts of things I hope they've been spending the 5 years on instead of just making pretty models of as many cars as possible... Dare to dream lol.

Re: What would you like to see in Gran Turismo 5 (the real thing)

I would love to see more drifting cars (ie: Top Secret S15, Nomuken's Evo X etc.) and a better, more realistic drift mode.

I also REEEEEEEEEALLY want the ability to modify cars better (kinda like you can in Forza or NFS) rather than just adding a racing exhaust, I want to see it and hear it rather than just knowing it's there! In Forza you can add bodykits, add vinyl set-ups, swap engines and other awesome things like that. And best of all, you can do that to almost every car! From a Nissan R34 GTR to an Audi R8! The creator of GT5 has said that there is a possibility of GT5 having proper customising abilities, but that they're not letting anything slip just yet...just have to wait a bit longer...

Damage would be a good idea, but I don't think companies like Ferrari would like it as much as we would...rumours have spread that it will only be available to specific cars, like old muscle cars and racing cars, like you can damage a Subaru rally car, but not a Citroen GT.There are a few videos on IGN.com.au in realation to damage. Check them out in your spare time:

Other things like smoke, tire marks, custom music playback and things like that would be good, but to be honest...JUST GET THE FRIGGEN GAME OUT IN STORES FIRST!!!

Re: What would you like to see in Gran Turismo 5 (the real thing)

TBH I don't think the whole vinyl and bodykit scene is really the sort of audience that plays GT. Most GT players only want modifications which will actually affect performance rather than e-peen.
