Chassis flex was in GT4. Active aero was also in GT4, which is still absent in Forza games.... F3 - there is no lift off oversteer in Mid/Rear engine cars which is a natural trait in those cars, there wasn't power oversteer for 4WD cars in Forza2 (I don't know if thats been corrected in F3). Sure Gran Turismo games have their quirks and issues, but to say Forza is much more of a sim than GT is a bit of a stretch. It doesn't matter how many times it calculates per second, if the calculation is wrong, its doing the wrong calculations 360 times per second...NFS
hift ran at 400 calcs per second, does that make it more of a sim than Forza?
I don't want to see GT5 get stuffed full of driver aids, autobraking and rewind in particular. I can understand Autobraking in Forza3, with many people using it for car customization as much as a driving simulator, and having autobrake allows them to easily navigate the circuit allowing them to concentrate on driving lines and making a cool replay/photo oppurtunity. But rewind I feel has no place in a sim racer, and I hope that it doesn't make it into GT5 in any way shape or form, even though it may have already been hinted at that its coming... ![]()

by active aero you mean spoilers popping up and brake vents etc? if so, turn 10 said that - and they specifically mentioned the Veyron with its air brakes - the actual act of it happening is simulated in the game, but is not animated on the cars.
no lift off oversteer in mid/rear engine cars? ive had it..... power oversteer for 4wd cars in forza 2? there certainly was.
forza 3s calculations arent wrong.

ok step 1) chill
step 2) compare those calculations to a real PC sim like Race '07... Forza's calculations are wrong, ok problem solved

theyre only wrong if you think that GTs understeer-in-a-turbo-rwd-car calculations are right

That's a really broad, and wrong, statement.
PAPO never said anything about GT in his post. He compared F3 to PC sims. IMO, iRacing and rFactor are the top tier of the PC sims (I haven't played Race '07), and what I have played of both of them (very small amount of time) is GT is right up there with them, under the right settings and, of course, this is only comparing the car/track driving experience.
And understeer-in-a-turbo-rwd-car, where are you going with this? Understeer happens in all cars, regardless of powerplant, drivetrain. So wouldn't it be normal for a turbo-rwd-car to understeer? What I think your getting at is getting understeer with power-on out of a corner, which in GT4 it was understeer biased, but you could still power on oversteer coming out of a corner, although not as easily as previous GT's and not as easily in Forza. You also seem to conveniently forget there has been 2 other GT 'games' since GT4 both with revisions to their physics engine. But that doesn't matter as long as you can sight faults with a 5 year old game to backup your arguments all is swell ![]()
To say there's nothing wrong with Forza3's calcs is a joke, every sim has its faults, different traits and quirks. Only a blind fanboy would say otherwise. ![]()

from what I've heard Race '07 is based on the same ISI engine rFactor is built on making it very similar
and all cars get understeer, in Supercar Challenge I like to drive the DBR9 which does understeer if you drive wrong, and in Race '07 my DBRS9 also understeers and if you push too hard the understeer can turn into oversteer in both those sim's just like a real car

I would hedge a bet the SCC has better physics than Forza (and ISR are reviewing it in their next episode)
also if you saw the GT5p Forza 2 shootout then you'd see that the guys from ISR don't seem to think GT5p has any real problem in the physics department
