User Adjustable Track Camera Module:
When viewing replays I noticed that the GT series has always had the creative edge from the competition. Why not go a step further and ALLOW the COMMUNITY to create their own camera angles anywhere on the track? This could be done within a "User Adjustable Track Camera Module" from within GT5. It could be added after retail release as a downloadable content (payware?) OR perhaps it's not too late to ADD to GT5?
This could add a very nice touch and allow users who create camera track files to share with others? GT has always had the artistic "photo element", so why not create a whole camera/editing area for the users to play around with and enjoy?
Here is my feature request for UATC Module::
Track camera add/edit/delete
- put the camera that you add wherever you want on the track
- add as many or as few cameras as you like
Here is an example of steps you would need to make for adding a new camera:
1. Choose camera type: fixed-no rotation, rotate x, rotate x/y, rotate x/y/z, clothesline, helicopter, random
2. Choose filming type: on a tripod, hand held-steady, hand held-walking, hand-held running, mounted on on vehicle, random
3. Choose exact position of camera (x, y, z)
4. Specify camera zoom min/max levels
5. Specify camera zoom speed
6. Specify camera focus speed
7. If fixed camera specify angle
8. Specify if camera lens is perfectly clean, slightly dirty, dirty (yes if cameras are in certain areas they can become dirty over the coarse of a race or even broken if cars run over them enough if it is in-ground camera)
9. Create an "activation area" by drawing a polygon area from a top-down view of the track. When the car is within this polygon area this camera is active. If there is overlapping areas/cameras, the camera closest to vehicle will be active.
I think this could be a really neat addition to GT5 - imagine how many camera track files could be created and shared within the community!

GT5 has already ticked alot of features off that i was hoping for weather night/day time cycles etc im dying to see how rain will look because the graphics in prologue are somewhat stunning inmo, also how rain will effect the handeling of the car.
Damage its ok i guess its a bonus have it or dont have it theres lot of argument over the damage atm and i have seen the footage off it and i have seen people say its not final how it looks now well maybe if it is maybe if it isnt atm it doesnt look really impressive or nessesary for GT5 quality bumpers wobbling bonnets flying off doors falling off... i mean i loved that in gta3. Damage to me in a simulation driving game is like a crash test you fly into the wall your car will desintergrate game over for you. Kinda like Dirt 1 but even in that you can still drive 200kmh.
Enough rant what i really want to see is a complex layer system for the cars paint jobs i have seen the comments in this thread its noted that alot of the GT community really dont care for this sort of thing, its just a personal choice i mean the only game i have on ps3 that lets me customise a car atm is midnight club and i think its only 50layers each side cant get much done.
I spend hours on driving games just designing my own style of car not really to show it off but because i want to drive something iv put effort into if people like it then well thats cool,
Rain/Weather/DayNight Cycles aren't confirmed yet, but hopefully it will be in, I think thats more important than damage implementation.
Damage I couldn't care less about unless there are the proper consequences for it. They have only showed early damage in limited demos, KY is indicating that we have only seen the surface of whats to come for damage. One of his main driving forces behind implementing damage is for online racing and to deter punters/aggressive drivers who stop at nothing for the win.
I personally don't care for custom paint jobs in GT. I don't feel thats what Gran Turismo is about, but thats my opinion on it. There are many people who would love that feature to be added. If you want another game that has this, try Ferrari Challenge and/or Supercar Challenge, they are both good sim racers with those features.

^ This... I'm not a big motorsport person, but GT to me has always been about putting street cars on the track and tinkering with them.... the race cars are just the high end icing on the cake..
So why buy a Mazda Roadster and dress it up cosmetically to look like it belongs in an international Touring Car event??.... makes no sense to me...

Not many people would be modding their Suzuki Capacinnos in the game, but more likely cars for drift mode, or if someone wanted to buy an Evo VI or something and use it almost from start to finish! If you look at any car in (for example) the D1GP, almost not a single one of the drivers' cars look stock! They all have awesome bodykits or vinyl setups! Put it this way: You love drifting, but you can only afford to buy an S13 (or something like that) in the game. Now, a bog-standard S13 or 180SX won't be able to compete against something like a Ferrari 360 in normal races and it sure as hell can't compete against, say, Nomuken's R34 in drift mode. So what do you do? You mod it!!! Get it looking the business and get it performing just as good! You need more power? Add a bigger turbo! Still need more? Swap the engine! Handling can't cope? Switch it up for a better setup!
Although most hardcore GT fans don't want a full-on modding system in the game, others do! If you don't want it, then don't use it!

I would like to see visual customization in Gran turismo 5, not physical changes but just paint jobs, A bit like forza3's visual customization.
I know a lot of people will say "thats not gran turismo is about, its about the driving experience" and I entirely agree. But it would be so nice if you could personalize your cars with sponsors and paint jobs... Imagine you tuned the hell out of a stock Mitsubishi Lancer and you've put some nice rims on and a wing... wouldn't be awesome to add some racing stripes, a color scheme and slap on a few sponsors?
p.s interior customization would be swell, you know like equip your car with a Sparco steering wheel and make the roll cage visible when its purchased... if GT5 offers purchasable Roll cages

Why the f**k would we do that!? It's on X-Box and X-Box's are sh*t!!! They always break down, online features cost big $$$ and although Forza isn't a bad game, I'm still not tempted on buying an X-Box JUST for Forza!
Also your mate got ripped off! I've seen an X-Box 360 Elite + Forza 3 + 3 other games + HDMI for about $400! XD
Turn 10 are up themselves aswel! They're made in America; a country all about making more $$$. Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Dominos, Pizza Hut, all of these huge companies are from America. Polyphony Digital is from Japan, and I can't name a single company or type of media off of the top of my head that is from Japan (that has nothing to do with cars) that has ever been as sucessful, or if anything more sucessful, than a major american company. Nothing except in the video game industry! Japan is the best at making video games. Polyphony Digital is the best at making driving games! That isn't going to change, no matter what Turn 10 tries to do!
GT5: 1,000 cars
Forza: 400 something

sounds like you guys need to go buy a 360 and forza, as its everything you guys want GT5 to be
one of my mates went and bought a 360 Elite + Forza 3 for $349 from ***** Smith this arvo. you heard me, $349. absolute bargain - console, 120gb hdd, hdmi cable thrown in, headset, and forza 3 for $150 less than a PS3 with nothing else.
the customisation in forza 3 is second to none. bodykits, wheels, stickers - up to 1000 layers per side/top, engine swaps, drivetrain swaps..........its got everything a REAL racing simulator should. turn 10 didnt just chuck in 50 skylines, 50 evos, 400 daihatsu $hit-boxes that noone wants to drive, update the graphics and call it a day like polyphony are well known for doing.
My man you have to start taking a commission from Microsoft, you're doing all the work for them! ![]()
