Re: Wheels

Good thread here usefull info would it apply the same to a G25 just thinking if mine ever gives up? Never opened it up.

As your on the topic of repairs not strictly wheel related but thought this mite give a few of you a chuckle after the initial anger subsided i can see the funny side of it.

I have undertaken the seemingly mamouth task of removing and washing the covers of my playseat race seat after an unfortunate incident involving my young nephew climbing all over it and shall we say a leaky nappy. Yes it was bad enough to warrant removing the covers.

Judging by how tricky it was to remove the covers i am going to have a nightmare refitting them. Anyone have any experience of retrimming / refitting these race seats covers any helpfull advice? Other than buy a new race seat :smileyhappy:

Heres a pic of how my set up looks now while awaiting cleaning and attempted rebuild.

Re: Wheels

Wow, I have no idea how to help you with that.

It may have been better to leave it together and just take it to a dry cleaner or car detailer.

Re: Wheels

Well the covers are out the washer now and look ok survied it intact and are clean as a whistle :smileyhappy:

So I think its just a case of being methodical about it. I know how it came apart and i took a few photos at different stages so if i just take my time it should be ok. I hope :smileyhappy:

Re: Wheels

MASTR GT I hope you can help me with a problem a friend of mine is experiencing. He owns a GT500 RS and he was saying to me that the wheel doesn't responce correct. I went at his place to check it  and try to help him, indeed the wheel has a delay. Not only the pedals but also the gear paddles. He used to drive on a G27 like i do but he plays only gt5. Is it possible cause he never connected to pc, not updating the software, to experience these problems? Does the wheel has some kind of internal flash memory to update cause as far as I know too, the update to v38 i believe it is now, is only needed for the pc drivers and not the ps3. He has also replaced the wheel so far 3 times, cause of the fan problem but not the pedals, but the delay is also on the paddles. Has anyone asked anything about similar problem? Is it possible for him if he reinstall the game as you recommented to other people, but for other problems, to help him at all? Many thanks in advance my friend and hope we find a solution for my buddy. Cheers!!!!

Re: Wheels

Your best bet would be to contact Thrustmaster directly because it sounds as if there may be a problem that you can't handle yourself otherwise. This sounds more like a hardware problem, but it is difficult for me to be sure.

I don't know a lot about the TM wheel, so I don't know if there even is a way of updating its firmware for the PS3. PlayStation consoles supply their own wheel drivers.

Please post back here to let us know what fixes this delay issue.

Re: Wheels

@ flowrider g25 g27 basically the same what you've seen here apply's to the 25 aswell.
if you want to see more of the inside's of these and how to strip down check gt5_andy_m 's link earlier in this topic.
As for your seat (it did make me chuckle kids eh) just take your time with it, hope it turns out well for you.

@geortourt replaced wheel 3 times already because of fan problem, how long does it last before breaking.
that wheel sounds worse than the g27 for problems.
quick update.
My g27 is working great since fixing it and the fan mod as kept it cool as a cucumber, ive also added a filter to try and keep the dust out.
As for logitech their service for me has been rubbish its now been a week since they twice said they would contact me via email
