I am only going off the viewing angle given my PD on their FAQ MasterGT, and then following that up with a bit of trig. And even when I put my monitor as close as my calculations show, I did not have to move my head as such, just a minor glancing movement of the eyes was required to take it all in.
Oh, I don't know anything about THX settings and such.

This isn't the picture I wanted, but it shows how close Kaz is sitting in front of a pretty large single screen. The position is probably a bit too close, if it is the same screen I've seen in other pictures, but the angle is not clear enough. However, it does show he is sitting closely to a bigger screen than yours.
The math is different for single screens.

As you can see from the graphic, your visual experience can be satisfied over a range, but where you sit will also affect things a bit, such as the closer to the centre you are, the best visual and sound experience will be experienced, overall, but you can still get a good experience while sitting away from the centre.
The one thing I would have to try to find out is how to get a 1:1 size ratio. I don't have that info off the top of my head.
Do you have a link?

You have to determine for yourself what you want in a wheel.
I have used many different wheels and would certainly recommend waiting while saving up for a better quality wheel. The DF:GT is "OK", but you will appreciate a G27 more.

Hiya MasterGT, a link for what? I must have missed something... sorry. And I guess I went a "bit" off topic going on about FOV and stuff lol.
Back on the wheel thing, I agree with MasterGT. I too used to play Ridge Racer and I think it was a VR1 or something like that. No force feedback and no pedals and a big red button on the wheel to accelerate. My next wheel came packaged with with Gran Turismo 3, made by Logitech. FFB and pedals this time, and I thought it was great at the time.
When I got GT5 I tried to get the old PS2 wheel to work with it. It worked, but not very well, so I then plunged for the G27 (by this time the G25 was no longer available).
When the G27 arrived I was blown away, first by the obvious build quality, and then by the force feedback and being much quieter too.
Bottom line is, as mentioned above, is to try and hold out for something better, and get along with the pad for now...

Have you come across a link to info that states what distance gives us a 1:1 (real life) size ratio on our screens?
There are other wheels from Fanatec and Thrustmaster which should also be considered. They are also not inexpensive, but are certainly worth comparing to the equivalent Logitech models.

Logitech is very good with their service, so give them your best and see what they will do for you.
