Wouldn't you think....

That, as detailed as the tuning set up is, we should have had the ability to create poke, on the wheels and the ability to resize the size of the wheels?poke.jpg

Thats poke...

Re: Wouldn't you think....

Stance tunning is rubbish. But I do agree on the resize the wheels bit.

Re: Wouldn't you think....

the detailed tuning isn't that detailed, especially when you have options to add racing modifications to cars that wouldn't even be availabe for their era. its all just fun though and not a true simulation.

Re: Wouldn't you think....

The word you wanted to use is replicator because, like it or not, GT really is a simulator.

Most racing simulator players would have no interest in a replicator.

Re: Wouldn't you think....

size and weight of a wheel can effect performance as can the size of the tyre. plus id love to put a set of high profile tyres on some big cars also some bigger wheels on more sporty cars

That's a show car though and ridiculous in a racing game. I doubt it would do any kind of good around a track, never mind a bumpy street cuircit..

Re: Wouldn't you think....

gt5 is as much of a simulation as motorstorm as in its a racing game, if you can add features to vehicle's that were not availabe to it for its era then thats like adding a jet engine to the red barons byplane. a simulation would replicate every feature and detail for training purposes hence the name simulation.so no the word i should of used was not replicate.

Re: Wouldn't you think....

[ Edited ]

Simulators only replicate parts of the environment it represents, replicators would get down to detailed elements such as the complete heat exchange of the engine.

For example, probably the only part of GT that comes even close to being replicated is the bodies of cars, but flip it over and look underneath it and you know PD only went so far with their details. Physics are simulated because they miss some necessary suspension adjustments.

Just because you might be able to change an engine or other parts are missing that you think should be in a "real simulator" doesn't mean that GT doesn't simulate a car and it doesn't mean GT is any less of a simulator. GT either simulates or it replicates. That's it.

Re: Wouldn't you think....

First and foremost Gran Turismo is a game, but with simulated elements, most notably the handling/ physics/weight distribution etc. Tyre wear and fuel are a funny story and should be permanently fixed on IMO. The same goes fo damage.

Its always used the tagline 'real driving simulator' to distinguish itself above the rest i.e. a more hardcore style racing game which have always been classed as 'simulated' type games even though you can technically argue that they aren't.
