broken ps3

[ Edited ]

One day I turned on my ps3 and it woundn't load a disc.  I took it apart and found out it's not spinning discs.  Help me please.  I'm going cracked.  It broke 3 weeks ago.  It's only 6 monthes old.  It is a refurbished one straight from Sony.  It is a 60gb.  Please reply.

Re: broken ps3

Sadly, I'm on my third PS3 in under a year. Both previous times the Disc Drive and Lasers have failed.

You know that PS3 means Pile of - something beginning with 'S' - 3 don't you? But seriously, as it's the 60GB one I'd get it repaired for the backward compatibility 'and' the 4 USB sockets. Ought to cost you around £50:00. Good luck :smileyhappy:

Re: broken ps3

i think the refurbished ps3 are useless.  When you send in your old ps3 they replace the broken parts but keep the working parts.  So so of the parts in a refurb ps3 could be 6 years old!

Re: broken ps3

If you can afford a new 'Slim'  then go for it but I'd still keep the 60GB Fat One. I've seen a broken 60GB sell for in excess of £200 on Ebay (gotta be somewhere near enough €200). Buying a new one will of course provide a much longer guarantee than the 3 months you get from a refurbished unit. It's always sad when a PS3 dies outside of warranty - I feel for you  :smileyhappy:

Thanks to Sony I wasted €120.  I want to sue them.  they didn't expect it to last a year so they just gave  me a 3 month warranty.  I called them and they told me that a refurbished ps3 is of identical quality to a new model but I don't believe them for a second.  Please help me sue them and get a refund.  Please reply

Re: broken ps3

If its out of warrenty then there is not a lot you can do really and i know its like a kick in the nuts but you just have to take the pain learn and move on.I have bought refurb before and wished i had just bought new and wont again as most of it is stuff thats been broken then fixed which imho is never as good as new even though they claim it to be.

You could try selling your broken FAT PS3 on E-Bay. I've seen them, astonishingly, go for more than £200 on occasion. Or, get a job  :smileytongue:
