this is brown sauce man! only being able to take the TC off if u hav a wheel. we hav 2 work our battys off to afford to survive as it is, n i hav 2 spend stupid amounts of money on a steering wheel 2 prove i am worthy of gettin into gt acadamy?! sorry its not viable! i use a pad n i hav a high 1.37 n high 1.50 n trust me u cannot do better on a pad. they say that there only takin the top 20 through, but u dont hav a chance of gettin in if u dont hav (due to not being able to afford it) a steering wheel. so i think they shud do a pad league and a wheel league. because every1 aint equally matched, it doesnt make it fair. further more it only proves the ability of the people who hav wheels. i was aiming for gt acadamy but because im in the majority that dont hav a wheel for whatever reason my dreams get shattered.

1. A wheel does not cost a stupid amount of money.
2. You can go faster with the pad. Take these times into account. These drivers used the pad to achieve there times.
Official GT Academy Rankings: Pad Drivers

2 au warrior2167 [pad] 1'35.687 1'47.893 3'23.580

Yes it is harder to get really quick times with a controller. And sure, some people do have really expensive wheels, and they have the talent and skill to push them into the top spots. But just by having a wheel does not mean you will be fast enough to compete. You can compete just as well with controllers, as these times prove.
I have bought myself a wheel, and a desk to bolt it too. I am not fast enough to compete, no way near. I am a good 4.5 seconds off the top in the UK at the moment, and that im sure will slip come the end of the tournament. But that isnt the reason I bought one. I bought it for the driving experience.
Trust me, if you want to compete with the top drivers, you need the talent, the skill and the patience to push yourself to improve. Having a wheel does not automatically give you that ![]()

wat? i love racin! that y i go kartin n donnington park in the ferraris n open wheel on a regular. i had a wheel for my ps2 but it wasnt that good, cars didnt actually turn till u turned it like 25 degrees or so, so i sold it n i thought about gettin another for my ps3 but its too much of a big setup (3 kids n everything now) but wen gt 1st come out it was good but i dont rate it that much anymore so i stuck 2 f1, rally, midnight club, nfs, n then racedriver grid came out n $h!t its sick! i think thats more realistic than this n i never went near gt on the ps3 until now n i still aint convinced

Yes, you are right. Using a wheel can have an advantage over using a pad. BUT, at the end of the day you too can buy a wheel. You just choose not to. Therefore you cannot cry foul.
I also use a pad as a wheel is too much expenditure for me at the moment once I include something to mount it on etc. But I cannot complain because ultimately I have the choice of buying one. It is readily available for me to purchase. Money, or lack of, is my concern. Not my competitors.
Now if the compatible wheels suddenly stopped production, I would complain. This is because I wouldn't have the choice to purchase a wheel should I desire one and those who already had a wheel would have the choice of using one. That would be unfair.
Would I like to have seen seperate tables? In a way yes, but only so I can compare my times with other pad users. But then again, this wouldn't include the times that could've been posted by drivers who use wheels and so it is not really a competitively valid table. Interesting to look at for statistics, but not valid.
As a side note, and I'm going to sound a real douchebag, can you please take the time to write out posts in at least reasonably correct english?
