Must be a different issue to the one I am having them. The online is seriously buggy. Coupled with the farse that is the Midnight Club AI I may just never buy a Rockstar title again.

I have only just startd playing the on-line of this too an I get the same problem! It a pain in the arse cos I REALLY want a platinum trophy after the effort put into this game. Fortunately I know a lad thru another forum that works for Rockstar North - I have raised the issue with him and will post back any updates that I get!

I have been in touch with the lad I know that works for Rockstar and he said that he was unaware that this was evne an issue and that he will check it out when he returns to work next week. I have also dropped an email to Rockstar themselves to see what they are doing about it. Will keep you posted.

After a good few weeks of playing this again, after a long break, I'm having this problem too, its so d@mn annoying, totally kills a game when this sort of stuff happens, when I started playing again I was rank 3, got up to rank 6 two days ago. I go on last night n I'm back to 5 *****, last night tried again and spend all night in a 50,000 match of Mafia work with 2 teams of 2, then I go on today n back to 5 again, plain shoddy fix it Rockstar, you started on PS, now MS throw loads of cash around n we get left behind not a great message to your original fan base (I know they won't read it I'm just venting).

If your rank gets reset DONT TRY & RANK UP AGEN !
Turn your PS3 off , & back on . It should work fine after that, i went from rank 7 to 0
But now i was rank 8 & i have gone back to rank 7 with $100,000 togo (:

Do exactly as firefox_x3 says when your rank goes down as 9 out of 10 times that's the best solution.

Also though before quitting the game just exit multiplayer,  then pause the game,  go into stats,  then network & check to make sure your score has been uploaded to the board before turning the game off.

If your score hasn't updated it may be worth leaving the game on & signed in to psn so that it eventually updates.

I have found about 10 to 15 mins usually is enough & my score seems to upload better after doing this.

I had this problem a few months back, got all the way to rank 8, signed in to see I was rank 2 with 47k instead of 1.4 mil. Sent emails to R* and got the run-around, told me to email T2, then they told me to email the social club, to which I didn't even recieve an automated response. Losing the cash isn't the problem, I've got no issues with gaining it back, but it's stuck on 47k. No matter how much I earn it stays at 47k, even if I leave my ps3 connected for as long as I possibly can. So, angered and confused, I made a new account. I've noticed something. On my first account, every so often it'd put me back down to 47k, and rank 2. I kept playing, not knowing it was a permanent problem. Funny thing is, whenever I was rank 8, the scoreboard would show me as rank 2 with 47k. When I was rank 2 it'd show up as rank 8. So it seems my PSN had split presonality disorder.

Luckily, my second account has had no problems so far, a couple of times it's reset to 0, but if you leave it connected for 5 - 10 mins BEFORE playing, your rank & subsequent cash comes back. What I think happened was there was some sort of connection problem, resetting my rank, and I didn't realise, so I cracked on, effectivly splitting my account, into a permanant rank 2 and a rank 8. This can be avoided as long as you don't earn any cash when you've reverted back to 0!

I'm back to 1.4 mil, and taking a break from earning. Also, my stats are way better, 600 over 200 kills/deaths in crops & cooks

As a side note, my new account sometimes takes anywhere up to an hour to upload wins. I've won one of every GTA race now, (working on the Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic) all uploaded fine. 

Sorry for the essay, but as far as I can tell the only solution is a new account, and keep an eye on your cash when you first sign in, or you could be creating a cyber alter-ego.

finally i made it to rank 8 and what happens i get put to level 2, since i started playing this useless excuse for a game i have been reset constantly had money not given to me stats erased in fact in a round on death match i got 237 kills and died 12 times did gta4 save this data nooooooo of course it didnt. its been 2 weeks now and im still level 2 the number the social club gave me to call does not even work and they dont reply to emails  I AM FED UP!
